  1. Pete was on the Tonight show doing "Love Reign O'er Me". He looked & sounded great. Reminded myself why I can't watch Fallon. Fallon is so obnoxious with his fawning thing. Don't think he's that funny either. Sorry, got off track. Was worth putting up with to see Pete.
  2. really nice tribute from Donald Fagen: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/read-donald-fagens-tribute-to-steely-dans-walter-becker-w500968
  3. No official news out yet but link below is to his website. A favorite of mine. Met him once & he was a nice guy. Enjoyed his dark sense of humour with Steely Dan. http://www.walterbecker.com/
  4. he has never put out a bad record. this one is very good.
  5. find the art online, right click on image, save image adress. then use picture icon above (under & slightly to left of emoticon icon). put address between the 2 s.
  6. i was just going to post this. i got a download with my preorder. most excellent! i don't think neil has ever put out a bad record. this one is mellow & beautiful.
  7. I liked the last one plenty but the new one is a giant leap forward to my ears.
  8. Happy Birthday Jeff. Half century mark! Don't think too much about that....
  9. Robert has said that he can write 3 songs whilst on the toilet & 2 them would be good. Saying that he is a character is a vast understatement. I used to have 2 records of nothing but his drunken rants during shows. Hilarious.
  10. The last one was pretty good, too although maybe could've used a little editing. Not Robert's strong suit haha. The current lineup is strong with Bobby Bare Jr & Doug Gillard. I read 1 review that compared the current era/lineup with the TVT era. Not a bad comparison. There were a lot of good songs on the TVT records & the production values were a little higher. The only bad thing these days (& for awhile now) is the overgrown frat boy contingent. Gets tiresome. Wasn't that way in the earlier years. First time I saw them was Alien Lanes era & have been a loyal follower. I gave
  11. the new record is very, very good.
  12. I'm thinking that this & Drive-by Truckers "What it Means" would make an awesome split single for charity....
  13. Downloaded it. Will play when the house wakes up. Nice for Jeff to be able to put out a little memorial for his dad.
  14. I'd start with the Propeller/Vampire on Titus cd if you can find it. Mighty lot of good songs on that. I started on Bee Thousand when it came out.
  15. Saw Metallica last night. They were epic. Show was a nice mix of old & new material. They know how to do a stadium show. The fireworks/pyro were impressive. I got to about 1 hard rock/metal show a year & this didn't disappoint. Much better than last year's G 'n R show (although Alice in Chains were mighy opening for them). Here's the setlist from last night: HARDWIRED ATLAS, RISE! FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS THE MEMORY REMAINS THE UNFORGIVEN NOW THAT WE'RE DEAD MOTH INTO FLAME WHEREVER I MAY ROAM HALO ON FIRE WHIPLASH SAD BUT TRUE ONE MASTER OF PUPPETS FADE TO BLACK SEEK AND DESTROY ENCORE
  16. Wichita Lineman & Galveston are favorites from when I was a kid. RIP Glen

  18. cancelled (Hitchhiker). Neil being Neil.
  19. After a pretty good run I'm on a show break due to some health issues. Had to back out of Diana Krall sadly as I won't be in good shape to go at the end of the month. August is looking busy though starting 8/9 with Metallica. Something may come up before then but need to be careful.
  20. I listened to the webcast. Unreal good. Playing night 1 now. NYCtaper version. So good. I'll most likely buy it if shows up in Roadcase. This tape is pretty mighty though. Supposedly the same guy taped night 2 & the Tweedy set too.
