You guys are brutal. I suspect if I started a thread with this title, I'd get replies like "You'll be missed" and "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."

Glad it wasn't just because they played Ripple.
-
Agreed. Wishful thinking from someone over on dead.net.

I saw some speculation online that the Sunshine Daydream thing will be one of this year's picks, DVD included. Pretty optimistic, I'd say. Guess anything is possible. Early Brent era would probably make me pretty happy.

Feck, all the coolest people are leaving...

Yeah, I have to read and write all day at my job, and that post was the best thing I read today.

Pretty reverent writeup in Rolling Stone, FWIW: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/wilco-anchor-solid-sound-with-covers-listen-20130624?utm_source=dailynewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter

Where the heck is my Dave's Picks announcement? Supposed to ship on 8/1...
-
Now it's getting harsh. The internet really is not a climate that is conducive to sensitivity in general.
-
Yeah, that friggin' Wilco. Jeez. What is their problem?
-
I think that's why I kept commenting...I wished I was there, and I have seen Wilco play most of my favorites in multiple settings. Sounded like it was the wrong choice for the OP to go to just Friday but not Saturday, and may have been a variety of very understandable factors (budget, time, etc). Your mileage may vary. But yeah, when you come back, you might want to avoid the political threads...they get a lot more heated than anything in After the Show! Edit: FWIW, the show did include New Madrid, not really what I would call a cover, Kingpin, and the often-played-by-Wilco James Alley Blues (

The complaints began on page one....during the show. I thought the push back was pretty mild, but then, a lot of it came from people like me who were wishing we could be there ourselves. Didn't mean to be insensitive, but like MB said, it's the internet...people are not known for being kind and loving every second around here....

On being disappointed by a concert (or an album, for that matter): I find that the more expectations I have, the more likely I am to find myself disappointed. Like if I expected Wilco to be joined onstage by Bob Dylan this week (or vice versa), I am probably in for a letdown. Best to keep expectations low and be pleasantly surprised if they are surpassed.

Seconded. You guys rule.

Nah, one extra vote ain't all that much. I suspect it's a lot easier to get Standing O or Laminated Cat played than to get, say, Blasting Fonda or We've Been Had or whatnot. Okay, at least two people have now requested Laminated Cat for that show. Lol

Toyota Park?
-
Haha. Sure. Who needs the NSA? We are copping to this stuff in real time on VC...
-
Yeah, it's one of my all time favorites too. I just requested it for the Americanarama show.
-
That would be totally weird. I wouldn't mind hearing Reservations for a change. Been a while.
-
I missed it, but...pretty sure I'll catch it live Thursday. Where is all the YHF representation? Must be coming toward the end.
-
Oh my God. All of us? This time it's my get-the-laundry-out-of-the-dryer song.
-
All right, MB and Sarah...let's start making plans for the next one. PM me and we will get it rolling. I'll be taking 75 north from Tampa.
-
Maybe next year. I'd be driving up from Florida. How many people do I have to pick up? Lol
-
Yeah, part of it is nostalgia for me, too, but it's also a really good song. Countryish version or straight ahead.... I would like to go to one of these by and by. Count me on that bus of people heading from the south. Can we paint it day-glo colors?

I think some people will be bummed they went last night instead of tonight...
