  1. Enjoy the show. From the accounts of every single stop on the tour so far, you are in for a treat.
  2. Well, that just shows us that many women want access to health care, including abortion services. As a man, I have to say it's really none of my business what choices these women are making with their bodies.
  3. I have been thinking along the exact same lines. After the incredible "Evening with Wilco" shows (2010?), where they had an acoustic set in the middle and knocked out 30-something songs, the next couple of years became fairly predictable. Of course, when you're not actually at a show, a list of pretty great songs can look ho-hum. But for diehards, it was becoming rather stale. I bought my ticket for Tampa thinking, "Well, they're in my city, with Dylan, so of course I will see them." When they added Weir to the festival, my excitement level went up (more bang for my buck!), but I didn't ha
  4. Richard Thompson will only play for about a half hour. I'd suggest getting to the gate no later than 6:00 in case there is a line of people coming in ahead of you. Figure 6:30 or so for MMJ to hit the stage.
  5. Wow. Great set. These guys keep blowing my mind every night with the surprise covers!
  6. Actually, it's because I am such a heartbreaker. Nah, it's a reference to my bald spot: "Sun's coming up...like a big bald head!"
  7. Ditto for me. Although I have to say, I haven't listened to Sharkey's Day - or any Laurie Anderson, for that matter - in a long, long time.
  8. I sure hope the demise of the message board is not inevitable...at least, not while I am around and have time. For selfish reasons, anyway. I have been known to lurk in other places, but not to post anywhere else. This still feels like home to me. I will also cop to coming very close to quitting way back at the time that the board crashed and the post count reset. I thought, "Oh, man, all that time wasted, and now I'm back at two posts??" If it hadn't crashed, I'd probably have about twice as many posts to my credit. Of course, once it was back online, I posted much less, averaging only a
  9. Thanks for the set lists and reviews, everybody. Having been to a couple of these, I can strongly second what ditty said: if you can go to one more, do it. My road trip to Atlanta from Tampa, while brutal, was well worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
  10. Damn, I didn't think you'd see that post THAT soon.
  11. There should be a tour poster for each show, but I don't believe there is anything separate for Wilco only. Get 'em at the show if you want one. The Atlanta ones sold out before the night was even over. I kind of regret not buying one before Wilco's set, as I couldn't even find one by the time Dylan came on.
  12. Nah, he needs to keep everyone else backstage. I've got 5 bucks riding on this.
  13. Nice! That should be good if they do it later. How was last night's show?
  14. Nice, some Richard Thompson participation. Hope the person who has been jonesing for Country Disappeared made it to this gig. Fairly rare tune.
  15. That may have been to accommodate Weir playing lead on Bird Song, but I wouldn't swear to it. Sure looks like he is playing lead in the video that got posted to YouTube.
  16. By most accounts, the Weir sit-ins have been the highlights of the tour so far.
  17. Another nice looking list. Cool that they broke out Cinnamon Girl as a collaboration. I predicted that one a few nights ago...looks like I just had the night wrong! Glad to see Far, Far Away still in the rotation, too. Hope I catch that again one of these days.
  18. Yeah, I think those songs are considered classics by most Wilco fans. But I don't claim to know much about what people like or dislike. They have such an extensive catalogue at this point, especially when you factor in Mermaid Ave., that there is a lot to choose from. I doubt that I'll ever find anything I like better than the run from Being There through AGIB, but many people on here are thrilled with the later releases. My go-to stuff might not be someone else's, and I accept that. Now that I have camped out in this thread a while, I may actually break out W(TA) and SBS...as soon as I finish
  19. I agree. I know Bob is a bit of an easy target, being in the druggy Dead all those years (and taking a spill a few weeks ago), but the guy is a legend. At 65, I highly doubt he is sparking up a fatty before he performs. His performances in Tampa and Atlanta were great, and he mixed his set list up just as much as Wilco at all four shows. I was especially impressed that he didn't make it a self-indulgent set of obscure solo tunes or Grateful Dead only. He covered Dylan, Delbert McClinton, & The Platters, in addition to performing songs from his own considerable songbook. And he delivered wi
  20. Anyone else catching Family Tree? Brit humor fans in general and Christopher Guest fans in particular, you should be happy. Some real laugh out loud moments.
