This reminds me completely of the UT experience. And Cooley reminds me a bit of Jay, only a little better, I think. Something about the inflection...

Damn, you guys rule. That was fast! Thanks. I like Cooley as a singer much better than Hood, but it's an interesting balance. Good stuff.

Damn, reading this makes me grin. I haven't used my tape deck in a while - and I am planning to digitize my tapes at some point - but that is a very tempting offer. As we used to say in the old days: PM on the way!

Can one of you DBT experts school me on which songs are sung by Cooley and which by Patterson on this new one? I downloaded it, so I don't have liner notes to help me. Apparently, one guy sometimes sings a song the other guy wrote, adding to the confusion. Thanks...

I'm thinking he fed them some mammoths and dodo birds and whatnot.

No worries. Hell, I don't remember what I had for lunch on Monday. I gave it an honest shot, and the download ended up with a little text window with computerese gobbledygook. I decided not to get fancier than .rar and zip files after that.

I've said this before, but I don't do torrents. Never could find a way to download them on my iMac, even after downloading software for that express purpose. Don't really need any more Dead AUD files, I already have too many on my system. Looking for a zip or RAR, even if in mp3 format. Beat me to it. Very nice!

Hey, at least there's another Bush on the rise there. Because we all know that's just what the world needs, another Bush...

Glad you enjoyed it. Pay it forward! On another note: can anyone direct me to a SBD of the Dead show from May 28th, 1982? Really cool second set with Boz Scaggs & John Cipollina. There's a very nice clip of it on YouTube, but it's far too long to convert via the old "YouTube to mp3 converter" site. I'd be fine with any .rar or .zip file of FLAC or mp3.

Too bad Steve Stockman lost, that would have made for some real entertainment.
-
Yeah, but will I still be able to download it and play it on my iPod? If not, hope Neil Young will remember...some of us don't need to buy more of his songs anyhow.

Somewhere online there has to be a critical exegesis on how Fred and Wilma represent Adam and Eve. This is the closest thing I could find to a serious discussion of this weighty topic: http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oew-leahy12jun12,0,319698.story#axzz2v230QYC9

Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs, because they were the original man and woman. They were sort of superpower-ish.

Never heard of a slow day at work, or of the Tivoli concert? I forgot all about the Halloween masks until that part came along. Creepy and funny at the same time!
-
Slow day at work, so I am watching the Tivoli Koncertsal show from 4/17/72. How can anyone not love this period of the Dead? http://dangerousminds.net/comments/live_dead_epic_grateful_dead_tv_appearance_from_their_legendary_1972_europe

I have never really gotten into these guys, but I also haven't listened to much of their rather large catalogue (I gave Decoration Day a spin years back, and thought it was just okay). This new release sounds really good. Based on the fact that they're known as a solid touring act - and will be performing at the incredible historic Tampa Theatre, which was built in 1926 - I went ahead and grabbed two tickets. Saw Wilco there in 2002, second row. The total capacity is 1400, but it really feels even smaller unless you're in the balcony. Kinda weird that it's like a general admission/theatre sh

Does this story belong in the political thread or the creationist/evolution smackdown thread? Hard to decide... Noah's Ark Project to Move Forward in KY http://www.aol.com/article/2014/02/28/noahs-ark-project-in-ky-to-move-forward/20840392/

It was 48 degrees in Tampa this morning. WTF?

What's even more surprising, to me, is that Neal Casal apparently co-wrote almost everything on the release, including that song. http://chrisrobinsonbrotherhood.com/2014/news1.html

Eisenhower was right about the military-industrial complex. It seems normal to us, because it has been so ridiculously overgrown for so long, but it is absolutely absurd. http://www.cnbc.com/id/101440355

I didn't like it at all upon first listen - it reminded me of my response to "I Might," as I said above - but then I didn't like that song at all until I experienced Wilco playing it live, and after that I thought it was really fun. I do find it odd that they went for something so different from the vibe established by their first two records, but I guess you could make the argument that those were really one record, parts 1 & 2...especially based on their release dates. Looking forward to seeing them in April, but want to go into it more or less "blind" as far as new material. I didn't

I'm thinking maybe Chris needs to lay off the hydroponic for a few.
-
For me, the new CRB song kinda pales in comparison with previous efforts, but it's interesting to see them going for a different vibe. Similar to Wilco's "I Might" in that and other ways. It will probably be a lot of fun in general admission venues and at festivals, what with everyone boogieing to it and whatnot.

I am totally into this one too. I typically give HBO's new dramatic shows a chance (unless they are a genre I don't care for, like Game of Thrones), and I'm impressed with how this has progressed. I do find that I have put the captions on occasionally like I do with Justified, but that's probably just because I'm not from the south. A minor complaint about an otherwise great show.

Bitcoin. Anyone use it? Here to stay?

It is interesting...but I don't trust it at all. Hell, I barely even trust the stock market.
