Bitcoin. Anyone use it? Here to stay?
Mr. Heartbreak replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I have never messed with them. Here's why: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/mt-gox-bitcoin-site-disappears-2014-02-25 -
No doubt. Animal House (one of the funniest movies of all time), Meatballs, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Stripes, Groundhog Day... As a sometimes comic writer myself, I'm a little in awe at this guy's resume...

I don't think the irony was intentional. -

I think it was a joke article, but I'm not really familiar with that website. Still pretty funny either way. -
I just read this. Bummer for Chicago folks in general.

Mason put on a very good show. I didn't know what to expect, but he is singing and playing well at 67 or however old he is now. I was really not familiar with Alone Together, and it sounded like good stuff from what he played off it. Picked up an old vinyl copy yesterday for $3.99. First time I have bought records in a long time. Got Phil Manzanera's Primitive Guitars at the same shop for about $6 and an old Billie Holiday comp. That was a fun trip.

Man, don't miss '82 either, especially the Frost shows from 10/9 & 10/10!
-
Cool. I am in the 7th row, so this should be good.
-
9/14/82, right? That appears to be the only time they ever played Charlottesville.
-
Yep, they sure did. Pretty cool. Maybe that was the reason I always liked Day Job more than other people did: good memories associated with it.

I want to see Ted Nugent interview President Obama. That would be entertaining.

That part still weirds me out every time I hear it. It's a real "wtf" moment, because it's such a long tease. At the time it was a bit of a letdown for those of us who like Sugar Mag, but not too much. Really high energy version of Minglewood on this, a song I never really cared about hearing.
-
Never seen him, so I'm looking forward to it. Apparently, he starts his show off with a bunch of Traffic songs, which works for me!
-
Glad you enjoyed it, man. If you're in the mood for '83 shows, check out this one from the same month, in Richmond, VA. This was the only time I ever got a Crazy Fingers at a show. I really enjoy Jerry's playing on this night. Too bad I barely remember being there. https://archive.org/details/gd1983-10-08.111147.beyer-senn-daweez.d5scott.flac16

From wikipedia (which might or might not be accurate, I know): And that explains my reaction to it... -

Even when he hits a bad note? It sounds like they recorded it live in the studio with no 2nd takes. Not that that's always a bad thing, but... I will give it another crack in a while. Hell, I even get a kick out of some of the songs from Together Through Life when they come up. I am a soft touch when it comes to Zimmy. -

I suggest anyone who dislikes Oh Mercy give it a second chance. Most of the Time just came up on my iTunes shuffle and made my day. On the other hand, do people like World Gone Wrong? I recently bought that and was realllly underwhelmed. Just thought it would hold my interest much more than it did. -
That '77 box is only available digitally now. The boxes themselves are sold out.

So Dave's Picks Vol. 6 (w/ bonus disc) was announced in mid-January 2013. But it's now past mid-February 2014, and still no announcement. I'm really curious, although I did not subscribe this year. If it sounds good enough, I might order one of these before it sells out. What are people expecting? Something from the missing/returned reels?

Jon Anderson (Yes) Alan Parsons Project

Looks like both nights are sold out. You lucky Chicagoans. Wish he'd come down to Florida this time of year and thaw out.

Hmm, looks like the Affordable Care Act is not quite the unmitigated disaster for everyone: http://www.dailyfinance.com/2014/02/14/obamacares-rebound-helps-unitedhealth-lead-the-dow

Seconded. I'm not a huge fan, but I like some of their stuff a lot. If I were of a mind to be picking up some new U2, this would not be doing enough to sell me on it.
