  1. I was one of at least a hundred people delivering "pink slips" to my Rep. Bruce Poliquin (R, ME) today in Bangor to protest his yay vote on AHCA. That's a healthy turnout for not a big area, so I think it could mean people are not forgetting about the healthcare bill.
  2. That is quite a way to go. Got to see him once in Boston, he was a hoot and the band was grooving. See ya Colonel.
  3. What amazes me about Trump supporters, if my assumption about the them is true that they truly like the job he's doing, is just how much they were dying to do away with "politics as normal" in government, right down to its very foundations. It's the only thing that can explain to my mind why someone would be supporting him still. For them, no preceding rules apply to him because he is not playing the same game. Which makes it useless to compare him to previous presidents negatively. Whenever a new meme pops up featuring one of another ridiculous statistical milestones he's reached, I feel it r
  4. I'm glad they're doing the double vinyl w/the record on one disc and the alt takes on the second. Not splitting up the album and having the alt versions on vinyl make this an absolute must purchase for me.
  5. I read a tweet that imagined someone on the Joint Chiefs probably had to negotiate w/Trump down to the MOAB bomb. Not too unbelievable.
  6. My wife happened by their tour bus once and unplugged the cord going from it to an A/C outlet outside a bank.
  7. I could've sworn this bomb drop would be bigger news when I first heard it. NPR barely mentioned it besides during headlines segments on All Things Considered. I was expecting comments from world leaders, estimates of damage it may have caused, the history of biggest bombs ever used in warfare....but nothing. Are we this jaded?
  8. Gonna blare Blow Your Face Out today. Growing up outside Boston these guys were kings, and it was always curious to me as a kid that the guy whose band it was seemed so low-key and unassuming. RIP J Geils
  9. Avalon? I think I saw them there opening for ... Fishbone maybe, or the Surfers, or ...
  10. Some of those bands I read their name and think WTF they're really not in?
  11. I love in the liner notes for the Rolling Thunder Bootleg Series where Ginsberg is in awe about Bob's circular breathing onstage. I think everyone on that tour was infected with something ancient and heavy.
  12. I must've been paying a lot less attention in the offseason than usual, because the Fenway greeting for Sale on Opening Day blew me away. I guess he's hot shit.
  13. Back in January I sent an email the weekend the Muslim Ban v1 was rolled out, to my many extended family members (by replying to an ongoing thread usually reserved for family event planning), hotheadedly demanding to know if they really support a white supremacist being on the NSC (it was the same weekend Bannon was elevated). I received a handful of angry reply-alls from uncles, aunts and cousins, including such gems as "we're on the Trump Train to victory!" and (believe it or not) "LGBTQ for Trump!" One uncle even replied and sent a followup email simply stating "Pussy" in the subject header
  14. Same here, although half of me is hoping he goes full Letterman and just repeats the band's name dozens of times. "Pearl Jam...Pearl...Jam....haha, y'ever listen to Pearl Jam Paul?"
  15. "Footprints" - Miles Davis "Fingertips" - Stevie Wonder This has been the Lammy & Stew Show, thanks everybody.
  16. You looking for my footprints on your fingertips?
