Blasphemer!

The worst is when his question of Why was answered with a synopsis of Haitian refugees after the earthquake, he reportedly said something like "Good story", according to a commentator on the NPR today.

Yeah Kavalier & Clay was one of the most enjoyable reads ever for me.

Oh cripes. haha

Good song. I continue to be exactly 1/2 as interested in Jack Black as I am in The White Stripes.
-
Good stuff.

I've only read about 1/3 of Wolff's book excerpt published by New York Magazine yesterday. I've since been surprised at the full focus being on Bannon's quotes specifically. Many examples in the early part of the excerpt, like Rupert Murdoch hanging up with Trump and saying "what a fucking idiot", or the White House aide who couldn't keep Trump's focus past the 4th Amendment in a training session did not come directly from Bannon, right? So why is this story reported as all Bannon all the time?

This is our central struggle as a people.

So many holy shits.

How was it? Thinking of getting Showtime for a month to catch this.

Is anyone other than me not really alarmed by the way Trump interacts with North Korea? I disagree strongly with just about every action this guy takes on everything, but the name-calling and dick-measuring game he's playing with Kim Jong Un feels, I don't know, kind of...benign, incredibly. I know it might sound insane, but I do not find myself all that scared of a nuclear war starting over all this.

Ah, that makes the pic even better, man! I know, right? And, for a second I thought maybe he was their drummer.

Just scrolling through your stuff - this one is a great pic, even not knowing who it is: http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/bestof2007/e2966be4c

I don't know where I found out about Jay Varner and his Christmas mixes (probably VC though) but they're a good time (one long mp3 track each year) and these links still work: https://talusorscreedotcom.wordpress.com/?s=christmas

The thing that really sits weird with me is: given that the final version we saw of Luke standing over young Ben with his sword lit is what really happened - that means Ben's turn to the Dark Side (while perhaps in the works inside him already) was essentially based on a misunderstanding of a moment. Right? Rey & Ren teaming up and battling Snoke's guards was the best scene in any Star Wars post-OG trilogy.

Runaway is a good tune.

Is it that old? I'm grateful to have avoided it. Either that or my memory reaches back only a couple of years these days.

If anyone's grocery store pumps in music from the same satellite mine grabs from, you are probably overly familiar with a recent offering of Bon Jovi's, a travesty of a song called something like "who says you can't go home again", with an unforgivable repeated chant of "s'allright, s'allright, s'allright, s'allright..." It's the worst thing they've ever done.
-
Fair enough. It just feels so good to rip on Bon Jovi though, I couldn't help it.
-
Full disclosure: I was once seasick on a boat tossing my cookies to the tune of that song on repeat (well, the whole greatest hits of theirs on repeat).
-
Local Hero was on all the time back then. I like one Moody Blues song, that early one. The rest of their hits make me nauseous. Tuesday Afternoon is like the aural embodiment of what the flu feels like. The Cars I'm very happy for. Too bad Ben Orr passed away, so no full-fledged reunion to hope for on event night. Bon Jovi are terrible and undeserving of even a nomination. Nina, I don't think of her as rock, but cool to see her honored. Dire Straits are obviously great. Sister Rosetta, you just can't fuck with her.

"Is something on fire?"

He'll need that.
