  1. I hated Flashback, but Hopper delivered one of the most memorable (to me) lines ever* in that: "Once we get out of the 80s, the 90s are gonna make the 60s look like the 50s!" *even though it turned out to be incredibly untrue
  2. Please Give - a terrific, touching, funny look at class, the elderly, monogamy, teen angst, etc., all delivered with authentic dialogue by perfect actors. Nicole Holofcener is the shit.
  3. People who turn into Nostradamus when they sit down in a movie theater. "Oh, the dad's gonna walk in..." "She's gonna call him!" STFU!
  4. Bill Murray should've sung lead on "Wilco The Song".
  5. Funny, I think To All The Girls is maybe the best opener (and coda) ever.
  6. Divine Intervention - Matthew Sweet, Girlfriend Excursions - A Tribe Called Quest, The Low End Theory Wild Flower - The Cult, Electric Block Rockin Beats - Chemical Brothers, Dig Your Own Hole
  7. Halfway through my first listen, I digging the hell of out Month of May - YEAH FUN MOVE! Next up Suburbs. Thanks for the link Kyle.
  8. Talent Show, The Replacements - Don't Tell A Soul
  9. People who misunderstand something you just said to them (or even to someone else), and they ponderously over-explain what they thought you said (which is generally slightly "risque" or "perverted") and they proceed to repeat the mishearing over and over, sometimes to others, in a manner that (jokingly, but annoyingly) suggests that you actually do the thing they thought they heard.
  10. Napalm, you're really getting on this dude who's making some very clear and thoughtful (and totally valid) posts about how he/she views the song. It's sorta weird. Is it 90 degrees where you are too? Cuz me, I'm effin dying.
  11. I don't think it's marketing, but I feel the same way as PageTheSage - the self-reference is a turn-off. It's funny though, I don't mind that They Might Be Giants have a song (one I really like) about themselves, and I wouldn't mind if say, The White Stripes had a song called We're The White Stripes. And Prince's My Name Is Prince is fun, too. But Wilco hits me in a way that pretty much no other bands do. So the song irks me. Actually if the Beatles had a song called The Beatles (the Song), it'd probably bug me.
  12. Oh indeed. Superstition - Stevie Wonder, Talking Book Down With The Bass - fIREHOSE, Flyin' the Flannel Sure Shot - Beastie Boys, Ill Communication
  13. Take Me Away - Ween, Chocolate & Cheese The Golden Age - Beck, Sea Change Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins, Siamese Dream Rock You - The Roots, Phrenology Let's Go Crazy - Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain Zooropa - U2, Zooropa
  14. Oh, I agree. I wasn't calling you out there, it just occurred to me.
  15. Y'know, this theory is just crazy enough to be nuts.
  16. The cognitive dissonance between this post and your avatar(s) is mind-bending.
  17. Whip It - silly, fun, kinda corny, kinda cool. Public Enemies - this was a hell of a ride. Loved it. One of Johnny Depp's best performances.
