Ryan Westmoreland is the man's name. Yes, Theo Epstein put a no trade clause on this kid last summer. He's a local guy (from Rhode Island I think) who they want to build up and make a big name out of. Between him (OF), Casey Kelly (P), Lars Anderson (OF), & Jose Iglesias (SS) these are the top Red Sox prospects for their future.

RE: Concord, NH Places To Drink & Eat or Places To Go To And Miss The Show Because There Aren't Many Manchester, NH has a much more conducive downtown environment for getting drinks & eating bar like food etc. Concord, NH is more of a laid back part of place where there's more odd places for niche products and the likes of one independent movie theater. Think of Concord as the bookworm to the boozer that is Manchester. I'll tell you the few places that I know of and it's up to you to make a game time decision to go and wait for a place and risk not making it back in time for an

Food For Thought: I think the Series Finale will be a brain teaser for this reason: We won't know if we're watching a flash back, flash forward or a flash sideways. I haven't heard anything like this from any of those spoiler sites, but it's something that I could see them leaving us to ponder on for eternity.

I really loved True Stories the film. It's odd. Before I saw the film, I was writing something similar (screenplay) about our current culture. After watching the film I scrapped the idea and realized I was beaten to it from a pure genius.

Everyone always complains about being robbed of one hour of sleep and waking up in the dark. F^*^ That! Let's enjoy having it get dark an hour later. That's the real anecdote to the Winter Season Depression. I know for me in New Hampshire it will be dark at 7p.m. instead of 6p.m. Please take my hour of sleep, so that I may have an extra hour of daylight. In fact, this event is kind of like crossing the finish line of winter.

RE: The Marriage Ref I think I really hit the nail on the head with this description of it. "What plays out as another daytime self help show is really about getting primetime celebrities (including amazing pairings) to come front and center." Yeah, I think I'll watch again this week to see Larry David and Ricky Gervais on the same show. And of course Madonna is on too. They spend so little time on the actual couples and more on the celebrities' take on their "issue/concerns". I wish there was another avenue to get these celeb pairings. Last week was nice with both Tina Fey and Eva L

Betty White To Host SNL Mother's Day Weekend
u2roolz replied to u2roolz's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I'm willing to bet $100 dollars that Andy Samberg updates his Mother's Day video last year (Susan Sarandon & Patricia Clarkson) with Betty White & Rue McClanahan, Maybe Grand Mother's Day?! -

I haven't seen one Red Sox spring training game on tv yet. It's like they're not showing them on NESN or something? Even MLB blacked out a game this past Sunday vs. the Orioles. Oh well.

Does anyone think that Sayid looks like Bill Maher?
-
So I heard that Marvel wants John Krasinksi to play Captain America?! After reading the script it all makes sense, since the finale involves good ole' Cap'n sticking Red Skull's "secret weapon du jour" in a pool of jello.

Excellent episode! Definitely need to rewatch that and Sundown later this week. So was Widmore's submarine coming away from the shore on the island and heading to the Hydra? I need to rewatch this as it happened so quick? Does Widmore want to unleash the MIB onto the world and destroy it? Perhaps that's why he wanted the Black Rock journal at that auction.

Problem Solved: take a look.... The Yankees and The Red Sox don't play until October. They face the number one team each from the AL Central, AL East, & AL West. These are the new playoffs. For Example: Yankees play Tigers Red Sox play Angels It follows that same crazy logic as the World Baseball Classic where you lose and come back for one more round.

Yes the whole tour from March 22nd through the last show in ? is An Evening With.

Yes, but my main gripe lies with trying to go back and watch this film again with a blank slate which would be terribly difficult to do. Unless, if someone has one of the devices from Men In Black. Now that I know this about the novel, I find it hard to separate one from the other. In my mind, that's kind of lying to myself if I try to watch this with an open mind and forget about what I read. I hope that you don't think I take you for a rube. That wasn't my plan. Unless, if you're admitting to being one. But no, I was here to criticize the film and not attack you. And the Birth Of A

I'm not 100% sure. I would assume that he got some money for telling his story to the writer on which the novel was written about his life. I'm sure the writer got some money when the novel was optioned. I don't know how much of that Oher actually ended up seeing.

True in most cases. But when you deal with race issues and how they changed this particular story around, you tread a fine line of receiving praise while simultaneously receiving harsh criticism. Edit: To add for clarification: I enjoyed Bullock's performance as I watched it. But when I found out about the story my thoughts changed on that. But yes within the film she is great.

Ok. I was a bit shocked & perplexed to see bleedorange's response to my 3 previous posts which I thought were pretty easy to follow. I studied film and watch films and of course I know that adaptations are never exactly like the book and books are never exactly like the real people's lives and stories. Anyone knows that. Once again that's not my main gripe with this film. Maybe a better way to start this criticism of The Blind Side is to take you through my journey through my eyes. I saw The Blind Side about a month after its' release. I enjoyed it and was touched by its' story. I r

That's not my point! If you had read what I posted and went to great lengths at trying to get you to see my point you wouldn't be asking me again. I'm speaking about this PARTICULAR film. (And in a little bit the effect that it had on certain people & critics) Let me give you one more example. And then I'll tread down a road that I don't want to, since that may open up the flood gates on that particular topic. Think of the SOURCE MATERIAL as a balance that you see in courts. And it is just that: balanced. (obviously not true but let's play with it, so that I can use this as a point

My dad is a huge Elton John fan and as a matter of fact he's actually going to see Leon Russell tonight at Tupelo's (about 10 minutes from where we live) in Londonderry, NH. My dad tells me that James Cameron filmed Elton & Leon's studio sessions for a forthcoming "something".
-
I realize that. I'm trying to shed light on the fact that through the adaptation it allowed her to do the role which she was awarded for.
-
There is no deep seeded animosity from me regarding this film. I'm merely making an observation about the difference from adapting the novel to the screen which ultimately had 2 side effects (either planned or just happened) 1) Made $250 million 2) It won Bullock an Oscar. So take what I wrote above and let me add to this again. Would you go around making a statement like "What does this recipe for ______ have to do with Chef _____?" Who takes the credit? The person who created the recipe? Or the Chef who implements it? Ok. Back to the adaptation example. I'm not really sure why I'm wastin

Well, a lot considering in "real life" Michael Oher knew how to play football and didn't need to be coached as in the film. A lot of the sass in the film came from her brining him to the football tryouts and standing on the sidelines patting people on their asses. It was more of a commentary actually on how different the film might have been received if it was 100% the same as the book. I just hope that people are aware of that and don't think that that's what actually happened in real life in the film. Edit: So in summation one could argue that by adapting it the way that they did it allo
