  1. EMPEROR! WELCOME TO VIA CHICAGO!!! Good to see you. Hi to your brother!
  2. We worried the same, a little.......it would've been understandable. But instead we got a passionate, intense rest-of-the-show, with two long encores. We are some well loved, lucky fans of a generous band. Jethro, I was there and there was no "decking".
  3. The name has already been given ("Let's Not Get Carried Away"), but no one has mentioned the pronunciation of this - it's "Lung-Ka" Let's all try it together: "Lung-Ka" Excellent. You guys are smart as whips. Welcome to Via Chicago! Oh, I'm sorry we missed meeting! As you see from the picture Jeff took of Clay, half of me is next to M.Christine. The other half was probably nearby. Your picture of Jeff taking Clay's picture is adorable! I have one too; will post once home. (Still in MO) In the pic Jeff took of Clay, you can see that I'm holding up my camera to take a pic o
  4. Should've said hello! Oh well, next concert. I concur with your memory of events. Pretty funny how Jeff's Kingpin ramble was quoted in the Billboard article, making it sound as if those remarks had some bearing on The Incident. "Confused Reportage R Us" seems to be the order of the day.
  5. Clay, the photos are terrific! I'll put mine up too when I get time. Kalle, you got some very nice shots in London.
  6. Aw, thanks Jen. I just calls 'em as I sees 'em. Red Eyed/I Got You were indescribably mindblowing (sorry, grew up in the 60's ) during the soundcheck, so I'm really sorry we missed getting that. PS dear band, please put "Who Were You Thinking Of" back into rotation.....too good not to. Oh my.
  7. Some serious inaccuracies in that report.....no face-punching occurred. Jeff handled it with real class after the initial freaky get-this-lunatic-off-me natural reaction. It all happened very quickly. Kind of surreal. Jeff just wanted to sing "Airline to Heaven".
  8. Tugmoose, the very very brief story is this: in addition to drunken & aggressive people in the audience, one of whom Jeff had to deal with early in the concert from stage's edge, there were also two separate incidents of audience members walking/jumping onstage in the middle of the band performing songs. (Two different songs!) It was pretty freaky, to say the least, and the second one, a guy, put his hands on Jeff, and Jeff understandably went off on the guy's drunken, fool ass. (no serious damage to anyone) I'd've killed him if it had been me, and I think everyone in the audience felt p
  9. Thanks, Oceanman, and let's just add that, as an audience and their band, we DID make it better. What a triumphant and joyous ending we had, to one of the most bizarre concert experiences I've ever had! Whoa, what a night. Jeff, Wilco, you continue to amaze and inspire. Tonight's concert was beautiful, and you managed to take lunacy.....skeins and skeins of it!....and weave it into music and love. As we all sang in Jesus Etc, "our love is all we have". I must sleep.....Edie, Chris and I have miles to travel in the early a.m. Concert details will doubtless be forthcoming from other
  10. Good for you for not letting that coach bully you into something you weren't ready for! Take it at your own speed, sweetie.
  11. I'll be with Chris & Edie. Practically a party on wheels! See ya.
  12. So glad to hear that you are ok, Lauren. That could have turned out so horribly. Tip your angels!
  13. No kids unless Edie decides to act childish.... Edie's probably gonna slap me for that one.....
  14. I'm happy to say I'll see you there! Please introduce yourselves, any and all......I'll be right up in the very front with M. Chris and Edie.
  15. I, too, will be looking to see whether you are on your best behavior, Oceanman.
  16. Narziss, evil admin, beloved ol' pudding pants, you tabletop-dancing fool, I am in genuine tears as I face this sad day. You have been the fairest and most skilled of administrators, a funny and fascinating member of the VC Corps, and always, that most precious of commodities, a dear and treasured friend. I hope that will never end. My head is filled beyond full with memories of your presence here. It's been a fantastic website since before I even stumbled across it (in April of 2002) and I think I knew, from my very first contacts with you and the venerable Long-Legged Pterydactyl (Hi LLP!
  17. Shoot, Bridget, it's getting to be damned near traditional for me to be late with birthday wishes! I did think fondly of you on your day, and here is your long-baking cake, sweetie! As you see, I pre-tasted it for tonsicisity. It's fine. Have a wonderful year, mystik one!
  18. Wow, much sympathy to everyone left waiting and wondering and worrying. That's a horrible position to be in. My strongest hopes and vibes that he turns up very soon, in happy & healthy shape.
  19. That's a keeper....nice work, Shane!
