  1. I didn't take it personally, Kevin....just understood what ElF was saying there. I, too, feel strongly that we can't find these cures quickly enough, and that research toward that end needs to be supported.
  2. Dude, El F, I've let your dialogue play out because I think this is a useful discussion, and both of you have put a very human face on why this is such a hot-button issue throughout the country. I appreciate the efforts you have made at restraint & fair play, more than you know. It's hard when an issue is so personal, as this one is on so many levels. El Kevin, I too have suffered a miscarriage, so I understand your point poignantly when you say that telling a woman that all she's lost is a "clump of cells" will not go over well with her. You've both deepened this discussion and that's a
  3. I'm so very sorry to hear this, Kat. So sorry.
  4. I'm also a huge M's fan & would be interested in anybody's live recordings of them. Got lots of other bands' stuff to trade.
  5. I'll give ya $1.95 plus mailing costs. Mine has a little wear and tear.
  6. The implications of this are mind-boggling and deeply sad.
  7. Sorry all, but with the site in a state of flux at the moment, this is obviously not a priority. That's not to say it won't eventually happen, but we need to be on a solid footing before we undertake "projects" such as this one. Just hang in there.
  8. Strongly agreed, Derek. I'm so tired of this goofball speaking so badly for my entire country. It helps my broken heart to think this way, Tracy, so thank you. So many people and their families suffering, while Bush claims the moral high ground.
  9. Play nice, kiddos. Remember that on a message board you can't hear peoples' tones, so it's easy to take offense where none was intended. Cortez, hope you loved your first Wilco show.
  10. No, he's right though......the film and the book weren't particularly close together, and I don't think Kot was trying to ride Sam Jones's coattails....I think it just seemed to Kot that a book about Wilco had an audience at that time, since YHF had heightened their profile. Kot is a fan and I think in that we were lucky, because he wasn't some "Tiger Beat" type outsider trying to make a quick buck...he was a genuine admirer trying to tell their story accurately.
  11. I was just asked if I could provide some bootlegs for his research.
  12. I liked the book and know that a lot of research effort & hours went into it. Chapter 10 is a good one.
  13. Not that a derailment is good news either, but I hope the initial belief that it's a derailment and nothing more sinister prove to be right. I haven't heard of any serious injuries. That's good news.
  14. Scary stuff, this: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/07/11/chicago.transit/index.html Not a good day in the world of transit, is it?
  15. Yeah, that's only reasonable since they are from whatever taper captured that particular night. But oh, isn't patience a bitch when it comes to hearing the new ones! Try to give it a few days, people.
  16. Somebody obviously had a great time at this concert! Don't worry, Jimcamel, it's likely to turn up soon, but as the previous two posters have pointed out, it's considered rude to ask about a taped show until at least a week has passed, since tapers have lives too, and also need time to work on their recordings before sharing them with the rest of us lucky and appreciative listeners. Try to be patient & good things will surely come your way.
  17. Someone really ought to convince me to come.
  18. WOW!!!! Those are gorgeous!
