  1. less painless......so, a double negative, which would mean.....ouch, right? We love you solace. Thanks for your technological superglue which keeps VC thrumming along.
  2. Well put, Andrew. The line I've bolded made me think of our current situation in the US, and how much I hope that other countries recognize that our leadership (to use the term broadly) is not us as a nation.
  3. Interesting, and sad, timing for this development.... http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/26/sharon/index.html
  4. Yes, but some of us think you may somehow be responsible for it........
  5. Nice review, Paul! Thank you! Sounds like another fine night.
  6. Yeah, noticed that. Seems to be all of us then, that same problem. We'll figure out what's up.
  7. Oh, excellent.... http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/26/...s.ap/index.html
  8. Or speaking from a ms. yvon perspective, which also suits me at the moment, more COFFEE!!! Gadz, I'm draggin' in this heat!
  9. This thread isn't going anywhere good, so I'm closing it. Anyone wanting to have a sincerely civil discussion about the war can start a fresh thread, but personal attacks won't be tolerated. - kidsmoke
  10. That brings back excellent memories, Dan! So you caught that amazing show? Wish I had gotten the chance to meet you!
  11. Wow, that is some really, really terrifying shit. What times we live in! poortranslator, you made me crack up, even in these scary shit times. I thank you.
  12. I didn't take it personally, Kevin....just understood what ElF was saying there. I, too, feel strongly that we can't find these cures quickly enough, and that research toward that end needs to be supported.
  13. Dude, El F, I've let your dialogue play out because I think this is a useful discussion, and both of you have put a very human face on why this is such a hot-button issue throughout the country. I appreciate the efforts you have made at restraint & fair play, more than you know. It's hard when an issue is so personal, as this one is on so many levels. El Kevin, I too have suffered a miscarriage, so I understand your point poignantly when you say that telling a woman that all she's lost is a "clump of cells" will not go over well with her. You've both deepened this discussion and that's a
  14. I'm so very sorry to hear this, Kat. So sorry.
  15. I'm also a huge M's fan & would be interested in anybody's live recordings of them. Got lots of other bands' stuff to trade.
  16. I'll give ya $1.95 plus mailing costs. Mine has a little wear and tear.
  17. The implications of this are mind-boggling and deeply sad.
  18. Sorry all, but with the site in a state of flux at the moment, this is obviously not a priority. That's not to say it won't eventually happen, but we need to be on a solid footing before we undertake "projects" such as this one. Just hang in there.
  19. Strongly agreed, Derek. I'm so tired of this goofball speaking so badly for my entire country. It helps my broken heart to think this way, Tracy, so thank you. So many people and their families suffering, while Bush claims the moral high ground.
  20. Play nice, kiddos. Remember that on a message board you can't hear peoples' tones, so it's easy to take offense where none was intended. Cortez, hope you loved your first Wilco show.
  21. No, he's right though......the film and the book weren't particularly close together, and I don't think Kot was trying to ride Sam Jones's coattails....I think it just seemed to Kot that a book about Wilco had an audience at that time, since YHF had heightened their profile. Kot is a fan and I think in that we were lucky, because he wasn't some "Tiger Beat" type outsider trying to make a quick buck...he was a genuine admirer trying to tell their story accurately.
