  1. Well, my prognosticating skills have been on point lately; I predicted GA would go blue back when GA friends believed it was impossible. And I predicted months ago that we wouldn't know the election's outcome until November 7th. My own predictions have surprised and delighted me. So I'm not doing psychic readings yet, but I've gotta say, it feels to me like something big is up tomorrow. Maybe he WILL concede. He's pretty broken right now. Monday, November 16th. Please make it "Concession Day". And yes, I know full well that this may be wishful thinking, but he isn't at all a s
  2. Wow, I have so many women to investigate further...maybe once we aren't are consumed by trump lunacy and a pandemic, we can return to saturating our souls with fabulous music! I feel like I've been distracted for 4 years.
  3. Every bit helps! I'll be donating to them too. I was already a Warnock supporter, now I'm happy to support both.
  4. I think Warnock could win handily, but Ossoff will be tougher. He's been demonized as a pawn of Nancy Pelosi in that race, so he's got an uphill battle. Still, worth fighting for!
  5. Now don't get all excited😄 what am asking is, who are the female singers you can't do without? I'm realizing just how many strong, talented women I admire! Off the top of my head... Basia Bulat Lucinda Williams Dressy Bessy Jess Cornelius Mavis Staples Frazee Ford Ohmme Katie Crutchfield.... And that's just a starter few. Which women do you prize in your musical world? Maybe it's VP-elect Kamala who has me thinking of women and their place in the larger scheme of things.
  6. And I would agree! When my son Brennan was 13, we had gone to see 3 Wilco shows on the east coast together. The last was in D.C. so we were flying home from "Ronald Reagan National Airport". This was 2004 and Reagan had just died, so many dignitaries were flying in for the memorial ceremonies. We had decided to visit the World War Two Memorial in order to take some photos for my dad, a WWII vet. As we walked around under an intense summer sun, there was a commotion, and there was Rudy Guiliani with his entourage. A woman nearby had a young son in a wheelchair, and she asked Rudy if he'd take
  7. I roared with laughter reading that story! Rudy Guiliani shouting outside a dirty bookstore is a perfect finish to the trump era.
  8. Same here! Today feels like everybody's birthday at once! Well, except for that grumpy orange golfer.
  9. I'm in a happy & hopeful mood, the first (politically) since 2016. Anything is better than what we've been through.
  10. So Biden has just pulled ahead in GA and is steadily expanding his lead. Also Jon Ossoff's GA senatorial race will now go to a runoff on January 5th, along with Raphael Warnock's. Those 2 senate runoff races could determine control of the Senate! Thought y'all could use some happy news. It's not over yet but I can't stop smiling.
  11. How is everyone doing out there? This GA race is a nailbiter even for someone who has never been a nailbiter!!! I'm praying Biden pulls it off. And the Ossoff race goes to a run-off as well!
  12. A trump win is incomprehensible to me. I can't even imagine continuing on down the road we've been on. As the saying goes, "However far you've gone down the wrong road, turn back!"
  13. Well shoot, I didn't see that 700-person cut-off for the book from the Offerman show. I guess I missed out too! My book arrived today, but without an autograph. Sigh.
  14. I'm definitely working my way toward an ulcer.
  15. Election night 2020, and my gut is in knots again. How are you all holding up? It's about 6:20 p.m. here in CA. Hoping and dreading the hours ahead. Trying for more hope and less dread, but damn this is scary!
  16. A sad loss...One of my earliest memories is of my mom taking us kids to see Goldfinger (I think?) and responsibly covering my eyes on the too-sexy parts. Thanks Mom. RIP, Sean.
  17. Not sure if she is selling more, either thru Oona or otherwise. I'll ask. I am currently wearing the one which reads, "Stop calling it the China virus you heinous monster" It's a bit astonishing how much I, a kind-hearted person, hate trump. But he's earned it.
  18. Susie Tweedy, I have lusted after your brilliant rage-crafted buttons since you first turned your hand to the art of the button. How perfect that these buttons arrived in today's (Nov.2) mail, in time to steel me for tomorrow's election! I am ready now. Bring it ON! I have a button for whatever ails us. See photo. Think blue, everybody. Onward & upward. PS - the stay-the-fuck-home one refers to the pandemic. If you haven't voted, take all precautions but please, get out tomorrow and make your voice heard. We need each of you. Isn't the Betsy DeVos one pret
  19. Oh! Of course you did!!! Sorry, my brain is frazzled and fried today...cannot wait for tomorrow to be over! And yes, now I remember your version well, it was hauntingly beautiful & now I want to hear it again! I'll bet Jeff and family loved it too.
  20. If you buy the cd now, as a preorder, you will also receive a free download of the album. So while you won't get your cd until January, you can listen to the download immediately. I like cd's so I've just downloaded & burned to cd.
  21. Don't miss this appearance! Jeff Tweedy on CBS This Morning, 10-24-20
  22. Haven't had time yet to watch it all, but the first half is magnificent...the setting, Jeff's voice, the songs chosen...thanks for sharing this, and I can't wait to watch the rest!
  23. That'll be a blast! Have a great time!
