  1. I could use this lovely word but I'm afraid nobody would have a clue what I was talking about. But then, they do that already so maybe I WILL sprinkle it into conversation. I'm sure the way I'll pronounce it, even the Welsh will be baffled when I say it.
  2. I'll investigate the error message, Jon. Love your photos! Look at all those fringed-up Mardi Gras hippies! Are you sure that photo isn't from Woodstock?
  3. Well by that logic I must've been there too!
  4. Blonde on the Tracks! Thanks for the reminder, I keep meaning to get this!
  5. This has been a year in which the happiest among us struggle to feel cheered, and the truly struggling among us are just trying to make it through winter alive. So I am the first to understand if finding joy and gratitude right now feels like a bitter exercise. But I hope we can find those separate moments of the year just passing where we recognize that life was beautiful for a brief flash. That undercurrent of love that drives life hasn't gone. We just need to focus to see it. Tell me the beauties 2020 brought you, that brought you joy. They are worth commemorating and celebr
  6. With love to all our American members and of course all of the world's most inspiring band and everyone who surrounds them and makes this wonderful community.... I thank you. This is Thanksgiving and I can hardly give enough thanks to explain why this band and their members and families and all of the Via Chicago community are so precious to me. You have no idea. Or maybe you do, because Wilco affects people so deeply. I know from 20 years of first-hand stories how deeply. Tell me a story. Long or short, doesn't matter. Tell me why you are so grateful that you discovered this
  7. Well God knows I am, Vince!!!!
  8. I'm with gogo. There needs to be a name for this feeling. Where's the damned "like" button?
  9. Well if it's any comfort, guys, so did Jeff Tweedy. Clearly, rock 'n roll kills hair follicles.
  10. Hey Diane! This is a sweet idea, and the link works just fine so I removed your edit. I am really going to try to get a picture for you! Show your love, folks!
  11. We love you dearly, Eric, and Via Chicago is so lucky to have you on our administrative staff! You have written such a beautiful tribute to the whole experience of being a Wilco fan and a part of the VC community. This community has always been a treasure trove of entertainment, excitement, support, and looniness. I think we do it well.
  12. I love these recaps, Kristofor! Thanks always for doing them!
  13. If we can all just hold on that long! Well, maybe it won't be a concession at all, but I'll bet tomorrow is a total Monday on crack. Something is up.
  14. I wanted to thank you, Yaz, for putting in all the links, what a great idea. Made it very simple to have a quick listen. The Rosa Agostino song, "By My Side" is gorgeous!
  15. Well, my prognosticating skills have been on point lately; I predicted GA would go blue back when GA friends believed it was impossible. And I predicted months ago that we wouldn't know the election's outcome until November 7th. My own predictions have surprised and delighted me. So I'm not doing psychic readings yet, but I've gotta say, it feels to me like something big is up tomorrow. Maybe he WILL concede. He's pretty broken right now. Monday, November 16th. Please make it "Concession Day". And yes, I know full well that this may be wishful thinking, but he isn't at all a s
  16. Wow, I have so many women to investigate further...maybe once we aren't are consumed by trump lunacy and a pandemic, we can return to saturating our souls with fabulous music! I feel like I've been distracted for 4 years.
  17. Every bit helps! I'll be donating to them too. I was already a Warnock supporter, now I'm happy to support both.
  18. I think Warnock could win handily, but Ossoff will be tougher. He's been demonized as a pawn of Nancy Pelosi in that race, so he's got an uphill battle. Still, worth fighting for!
  19. Now don't get all excited😄 what am asking is, who are the female singers you can't do without? I'm realizing just how many strong, talented women I admire! Off the top of my head... Basia Bulat Lucinda Williams Dressy Bessy Jess Cornelius Mavis Staples Frazee Ford Ohmme Katie Crutchfield.... And that's just a starter few. Which women do you prize in your musical world? Maybe it's VP-elect Kamala who has me thinking of women and their place in the larger scheme of things.
  20. And I would agree! When my son Brennan was 13, we had gone to see 3 Wilco shows on the east coast together. The last was in D.C. so we were flying home from "Ronald Reagan National Airport". This was 2004 and Reagan had just died, so many dignitaries were flying in for the memorial ceremonies. We had decided to visit the World War Two Memorial in order to take some photos for my dad, a WWII vet. As we walked around under an intense summer sun, there was a commotion, and there was Rudy Guiliani with his entourage. A woman nearby had a young son in a wheelchair, and she asked Rudy if he'd take
  21. I roared with laughter reading that story! Rudy Guiliani shouting outside a dirty bookstore is a perfect finish to the trump era.
  22. Same here! Today feels like everybody's birthday at once! Well, except for that grumpy orange golfer.
