I'm loving this.

Good job, girl! And I also loathe the Sex in the City women.

I like this Lotti t-shirt idea. It would need maybe a sketch of Lotti in some classic pursuit. Yes, but I understand that this t-shirt is Lotti's favorite base garment for ice-fishing competitions.

Be sure to come by the VC table so we can meet you in person. Details in the Solid Sound thread.

They're pretty danged special.
-
We will allot extra nametags for you (to write all that) and will try to assist in apparent emergencies. Diane, you can stand behind dagwave for added safety.

Is that what we're calling this? Organizing? It's always the women.

Only that the sign should have large sequins glued around the sides for a border, and it would really be cool if it had pom-pons attached somehow. And perhaps real name below.

Ah, you volunteers are all the same. Would the tee shirt have to be new?
-
Leigh, how lovely of you to volunteer to man our VC booth!

I can't wait to see everybody! We should do a VC meet-up somewhere, pre-festival, on Friday...would you be interested? It would be great to see so many old friends as well as meet those who are still only known to me by a VC username. Nalafej, apologies...I was just telling someone that I was pretty sure you were a female. Don't know where I got that. Yep, we need a meet-up. There will be homemade beef jerky to go with your brews.

So happy for you, nalafej! Will this be your 1st Solid Sound? Did you find good lodging I hope?

Now that it's officially summer, what do you all have planned for your summers? Not just entertainment, but also plans for home improvement or self-improvement projects? Ambitious hobbies? Travel? Tell us what's up. I begin my summer with the Solid Sound Festival, and we hope to have completed the scraping, sanding, and repainting-of-the-eaves project at our house by summer's end. Or much sooner, hopefully. So, some play and some work. Also, my garden is almost completely in (late start) and it's beginning to look lush and green and happy. Soon these squash vines and tomatoes will be runnin

I can't even begin to explain why these songs make me laugh until I'm crying. Maybe all these songs needed was some goat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfpL6_0OBuA

I saw Temple Grandin speak last night at UC Riverside...she was brilliant, passionate, and frequently very, very funny! What an amazing woman. Afterwards she posed for photos and gave out autographs, and I was able to get her autograph on my copy of her wonderful "Animals Make Us Human". Highly recommended for anyone who loves and/or works with animals...her keen insights are fascinating, and often counterintuitive to what we think we "know". great reading.

Perhaps banners and signs are called for. And Diane, you should bring quantities of bulk-purchased sequins to fling into the air like confetti!
-
I'm going to be happy with almost anything they choose to play. You've all made some fabulous suggestions! What fun this is going to be!

And did you win???

I wonder if temperatures were the problem, rather than bars being broken? It's 93 degrees today here in ridiculously sunny southern CA. Chocolate wouldn't survive being left in a mailbox!

Our local library periodically has sales to remove older books or books of which it has multiple copies. Shortly before last Christmas they held one, and I was amazed to read that books were $1 per brown-paper-sackful! So I suggested to my family that I'd love a bunch of books as a Christmas gift. I wound up with two big boxes of books, most in excellent shape and many in "like new" condition! They run the gamut in subject matter (mostly fiction) and so far the selections my family made have all been terrific reads. Yesterday I finished Imagining Robert by Jay Neugeboren, an absorbing and movi

Thanks, that was wonderful to re-watch! It really reminded me of how very much there is to see and do in the too-brief weekend! I'm always left realizing that I missed several acts and barely saw the art or the lovely town. That's ok though; it just draws me back to the next SSF.

Oh, I like how you think! Maybe Sue has a bedazzler!

I came across this old post from Lotti, from last August: "Dear Mr Jeff Tweedy, I thank you for demonstration of ways of the Abba on past year. I have taken great pleasure from your Love Whole. Mr Pat also absorb teachings in sound quality - Lofty Place is just like Polar Studios of olden good days! But, we all know it - Ha! Ha! No doubt you give him the big hints in this direction! So, have good schnapps breakfast as in our custom, and meaty feast later in style of Mr George Forman, as in habit of your country. Then it is time for the Abba party! I hope to start your balls rolling in thi

Rally the troops! Extra schnapps for the troop-rallyers! There are bound to be recordings, ladies. I'll make sure you each get to hear this, should it occur. You will both be with us in spirit.
