Mr Jeff Tweedy is full of a kind of human milk for sure!

I don't think so...but then you always do hear your own voice differently than others hear it! Ask my so-called friends. -

I did call out "Welfare!" and "Believe!", and heard others around the field doing the same. I wonder if they'll ever get all that star-shaped confetti out of the field? "Next time" we'll have to search out a biodegradable variety. -
Clearly, a "no".

Can't blame this one on me. -
It is exactly the right place, and reading your post put a smile on my face and some things in perspective. Thanks so much for sharing that. (Was it the Friday night requests show, or the all-Wilco of Saturday night? Both were wonderful.) Aside to Lotti : that's what we're calling it now, seepage? I do believe.

And I still haven't read it! Gotta get on that, as I loved his short-story collection, "Ladies and Gentlemen".

What he said! Congratulations on your achievement, Louie! -
I'm better than halfway through Joe Manning's "Disappearing into North Adams" now, and it is so atmospheric that it runs through my thoughts all day and my dreams at night. I find myself really wanting to return to North Adams sometime when there isn't a Solid Sound Festival going on, so that I could just mosey about the town and really take it all in. I could spend a long while just admiring the old Victorian houses or walking in the old hillside cemetery. What a beautiful, beautiful area, and what a great town!

Haha, that's pretty funny! Thanks for the clarification, Wendy. -
Love your photo, rhino! Next time I'll make a point of driving up Mt. Greylock. So is NH the 4th state that can be seen from up there?

What a wonderful town. So much of what makes SSF fantastic has to do with the utterly charming and friendly locale. One of my souvenirs from this year's SSF is a book by Joe Manning that I picked up in Hardware, the Mass MoCA giftstore. It's called "Disappearing into North Adams" and it gives a history of the town dating back to the controversial urban renewal project of the late 60's/early 70's that drastically changed the character of North Adams' downtown...many old-timers feel, for the worse. It's well told using photos of the demolition work, articles from the North Adams Transcript (loc

Yep! Love it. -
Welcome to Via Chicago, surprisetruck! Great username which must have a good story behind it. Pretty terrific SSF, despite the intense heat/humidity...I'm almost re-hydrated now! I've got a lot of photos to share, once I get finished unpacking and all. Some are even in focus.

Home again, exhausted and Berkshires-mosquito-bitten, but still haven't managed to wipe the enormous grin off my face! I'm so glad I got to see so many old friends, and put faces to several here on the board who I'd only known by their posts. You're all pretty wonderful! Brennan (my son) has Saturday's Wilco set and was hard at work on it every chance he had on Sunday and Monday, even on our flight home. We kept blocking people heading back to the restroom with headphones being passed across the aisle to our friend Julie, so she could hear choice bits. Remember when the train came through,

There's one a short block away, easy to find, that would like have the game going I think. Does anybody remember the name of that place we went to at SSF1? Sorry, I don't.

Would love to meet you & the fam. Come by the VC table in the bar/food area overlooking Courtyard C on Friday night...please folks, don't be shy. It's such a great chance to connect! Plus, free beef jerky! Homemade even.

Loved that.

Just so everyone is clear on this, no, we do not allow individuals to use Via Chicago as free advertising space. As our rules clearly state, this is prohibited. "The following will not be tolerated: Spam and personal advertisements, including "street-teaming". Via Chicago is not your free advertising space." I've contacted the individual poster who wanted to rent out his place and several parking spaces and advised him of this policy.

No, of course not.

I love how you guitar wonks are so ready and willing to help each other! Music really does bring out the good in people.

That's a great looking poster! Terrific setlist, too.

Well of course it probably is. Shows you how little attention I pay to that godawful show.
