I just collected $1900 tonight from winning a fantasy baseball league Bastards hit me for $150 in beerz though I had big fat Frank, Parker Brothers and Brandon Inge Not to mention Giambi, Dye, Hafner, Garland , Mussina, etc... We've done this high money AL only league for 10 years now, $260 a team plus $1 per transaction -- I am more than way ahead over the years so I don't technically have a "gambling" problem

right out of law school my wife and I as young'uns in our lean years decided to have a party for the partners in the firm I joined. The wife of one got blitzed on red wine and puked it all over our couch and carpet, and then passed out. She apologized the next day but never helped clean or pay . . .

M. Ward, Old Crow, Neil Young and Clapton - Philly
wheelco replied to Seltz's topic in After The Show
Old Crow M S was fantastic at Tall Stacks in Cincy playing before Wilco Bluegrass isn't always my thing, but they are extremely talented and give a great show -
Another Run At Lord Stanley's Cup
wheelco replied to Kicking_Television's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Jackets 2-0-1 Zherdev back up front and Pepe LeBlanc in goal looked fantastic against the Coyotes it's great to still be in the playoff race so late in the season . . . -
my reaction to RockMyself or whatever it is was not from a bad audience recording but was from seeing/hearing it at Tall Stacks. I just did not like it at all, plain and simple. I also do not like On & On & On I do, however, like Imp. Germany, Walken/Walkin' and especially Is That the Thanks I Get people are overreacting here, we're all entitled to like or not like what we want I don't like IATTBYH but many here think it it is up with the Rig-Vedas I think Muzzle of Bees and Hell is Chrome are two of the best Wilco songs ever but many here think they're too boring or who know

well, I love AGIB, YHF, BT & MA 1 and 2 also (notice I did not say ST) I like most of Jeff Tweedy's other output; however, I did not like this when the new CD comes out, I will still have a listening party with it, not AM
-
the crowd scream I can give or take; the way they do it now seems like a Zeppelin Kashmir ripoff cut and pasted into what had previously been a distinctive and somewhat clever song musically (maybe not lyrically - I don't really get involved in analyzing that)

at least you can't feel guilty about laying on the couch and watching feetball

I got it and audibly chortled

I listened to the BT Kingpin in the car this morning and thought, "Man, that used to be a pretty good song".

I like to rock at concerts, and I wouldn't want a show that was all mid-tempo acoustic fron these guys right now, as there's too much good energy however, to me this new tune was just screaming trash thrash, but not in a punk or even a jam kind of way I dunno . . . like I said, I'll still buy the CD
-
I'm a Wheel is in my bottom half of Wilco songs, really, but this new one is lower, except for maybe the lyrics. However, I'm more of a fan of music than lyrics, given that this is rock we're talking about I just didn't like it at all, no big deal This band is so much better at subtlety and melody than most out there, but this type of tune throws it out the window A shame, I really had thought Hell is Chrome/Muzzle of Bees/Theologians were the harbingers of the musical sophistication these guys were going to keep giving I'll still buy their CDs and go to shows in any event . . .

good assessment, I had fun all the same

We've had deaths in the family recently, and I know what a difficult time this is. Let your Mom's spirit and memories of her carry you forward. Dave
