    I'm Engaged!

well done, dude! great that you're playing it, too!
  4. going to see Swell Season tonight in los angeles. does anyone know if there will be an opening act? aha! just saw a poster for tonight's show that announces josh ritter on the bill.
  5. argh! i can't believe i missed this! i've been at my desk all day. looks like a terrific show!
  6. yep. that actress was a tall red-head. and linda purl was all over 70's television. teen actress, etc. she was in a movie o'the week with sean cassidy back in the day. also: the office still has me rolling with laughter. the halloween intro on "koi pond" was a great bit for darryl. and "book face" had me breaking into laughter at intervals the next day at work. "that's not really the trend for vampires right now"
  7. technically mmj related, but no less awesome: stills from MMJ on American Dad
  8. reading your list i thought this was happening. is this a wish list or a "how it was done" list?
  9. she hasn't posted it in here, but kidsmoke has a great crossover halloween - thanksgiving avatar
  10. the backdrop curtain is theirs as well. really nice lighting design around the scallops of it.
  11. what a stylish signature she has! thanks for the doris, hit, ad!
  12. funny, i don't remember this pic being taken...or painting being painted
  13. although not technically thanksgiving themed, i feel this pic of Giants' shortstop (retired!) Rich Aurelia wearing an apron says "home cooking!"
  14. good catch, m.c! andrew, as ever, great to see your avatar around here!
  15. i recommend "you shall know our velocity" by eggers. picked it up on the recommended shelf at my library. terrific and moving stuff. in re: jane austen: i think i am not able to relate at all to the strictures and social mores of her time and i just get frustrated by the polite and demureness of it all. and while i enjoyed the story of wuthering heights, i didn't like the writing. it's been decades, tho. i could give it another go. i was suprised to find that i loved reading "frankenstein" in college. aside from the verbose, victorian style it was a tremendous book.
  16. paul, they've been using a curtain at every theatre they play. i don't know if that might have been a requisite for venues... reading over your setlist reminded me of how wonderful "brakeman" is live. stooka, i like your title edit.
  17. well that is clear from your name! i'm a "confederacy"fan. renic told me that she tried to read it but imagined that ignatius' voice as the comic book guy from the simpsons. perhaps these aren't books that suck, but they are books i hated: --jane austen: sense & sensibility --ayn rand: the fountainhead --emily bronte: wuthering heights also: two friends of mine recommended "the true and outstanding adventures of the hunt sisters." i got 8 pages in and had to bail out. not. for. me.
