  13. just picked up "tomorrow morning" on friday. am loving it! i know i've been a bit of an Eel's cheerleader around here, none too critical, but i've loved the last 3 records. for those of your with CDs with cover art: the tree on the cover is a jacoranda (sp). there are many of them in my neighborhood. in the spring they fill with lavender blooms. lovely. i was singing "i'm a hummingbird" all afternoon yesterday.
  14. preservation hall jazz band: preservation the richie havens version of "trouble in mind" has been with me for months. gorgeous!
  15. what's this? saw their set at Bonnaroo last month. i can't verbalize how the show was without sounding like an 8th grader. fucking awesome!
  16. i love this film. although the band dissolved at the end of it, i thought it was hopeful, too. fun fact: for those of you who might know my real name, i'm listed in the {quite long} "special thanks." (i edited a couple of the bonus performances for the DVD)
  17. it's great to see this thread! there is a pic on the rolling stone site of the singer during one of their bonnaroo sets. GREAT to hear they sold all their cds! i think of them as a neighborhood band b/c some of them live in glendale and they play l.a. often. i got to see them at sasquatch for their "first festival appearance". so exciting. really something to see the crowd all singing along. go, dawes, go!
