as it turns out there is a 1 hr. difference between Lexington time and Chicago time so i was able to sweat about getting my morning jacket tickets, then sweat about the jeff tickets. this should be a fantastic weekend!

i saw them when they toured with Dan Auerbach: they were terrific! the real deal. i bought the ep they had for sale but wasn't aware they have more recordings available. thanks!

i was disappointed about "terriers" being cancelled, too. such a great role for Donal Logue. (loved your comments about his acting a few pages ago, crypt!) network tv is such a weird animal these days. they're all trying to figure out how to do things now that the game is so different than it used to be.

one year my mom gave my brother, sister and i identical gifts. she was really excited about the gifts and i was under instruction to call her as soon as i opened it. turned out to be a hand painted ceramic cast of Jesus on the cross about 11" tall and on the gory side. i'm an atheist. when i explained that to my mom she replied, "Oh. But you believe in God, right?"

this was a sad surprise on tuesday. mr. landesberg guest acted on an episode of "the Cleaner" when i worked on that show. one afternoon he sat at the lunch table with the editors. i was so star struck i couldn't think of anything to say. check out this barney miller clip onion's av club obit page: dietrich & yemana gold

the cool thing about that clip is that it is edited work-print film, not cut negative. the work print is marked with grease pencil for the negative cutter. before each edit there is a ramping mark that indicates an edit is coming. in one spot there is a pencil mark in the middle of a shot. that indicates an "unintentional edit." could be that the shot was extended after it has been initially cut or that it was a mistake. the mark (which is an = made across the edit) indicates to the negative cutter not to cut the negative at that frame. ---*the more you know
