That's really not creepy at all. Nope.

Pat looked ginchy as hell throughout, I thought. I didn't catch any windmills per se, but his slide down the fretboard during Walken made me laugh out loud. As did Jeff's bungling of the last line of Too Far Apart, in spite of it having become a bit of a scripted "goof." By about halfway through the show, everybody looked to be really enjoying themselves.

Wow. This cult is even screwier than Jim Jones's gang. For real. I love that what they do is completely illogical and totally batfuck insane, except that I don't love it it all.

Musiscians Inspiration - Joni Mitchell

You're a liar! -
Humour on the original "Goin' to Acapulco?" Sure, I'll disagree. That song sounds like a lot of things to me - longing, regret, fantasy, desire, etc. - but it sure as hell doesn't sound like a smirk.

Well, this is silly.

Things I think are right with this country

So is it true that Americans are forbidden from traveling to Cuba on vacation? I'd always assumed that was an exploded urban myth. Fucked. Up. It's a surprisingly popular travel destination here in Canada. Of course, we're pretty hedonistic by comparison, what with our marijuana and topless women. Too much freedom, that's our problem! American stuff I dig: jazz, rock and roll, and Bob fuckin' Dylan. -
Kucinich is the most brilliant American politician currently seeking the office of president. Fact! And his wife is an absolute stunner, to boot. And how the shit was there not a right-wing conspiracy during the Clinton years? The GOP mobilized more efficiently than any army I've ever seen in their attempts to bring Bill down over a fucking blowjob. I've seldom seen insanity on such a grand scale.

I'm definitely in the category of listeners who struggle with the idea that this band is noteworthy in any way. They get a lot of really positive ink, so I've given them a shot or two, but I can't find anything remarkable about either of their big ballyhooed albums. Listening to this White Session stuff, it's nice, but... I don't know, I just don't feel the need to save and relisten to it.

It surprises me that these guys aren't name-dropped more frequently, this being a Wilco board. Moving Back Home #2 is one of my favourite songs of the year, hands down.

The new EP sounds to me like major label 'Mats spliced with pianee-heavy saloon music. Diggin' it up.

No, you'll want more than just that. It's middling, rather than a high point.

Just Once Upon a Time in Mexico. I sort of hate Robert Rodriguez, but my friends talked me into it. There was no arm-twisting when we left two-thirds of the way through it, I'll say that. I can only take so much dumb before my brain threatens to kick my ass. Johnny Depp's no-eyed gunfight was pretty much the straw that broke this camel's back.

I have a ridiculous number of Laughner recordings. Several GBs, we're talking. PM me if you want anything. Some of it's super-rare and took me years to track down.

That there is a highlight! I guess digging the band is a prerequisite, but I can't think of a better Dylan song for Craig Finn to sing.

OK Computer by miles. Probably the best album of the '90s, and many times better than anything else Radiohead's done, IMO.

If anybody still needs this, PM me and I'll set you up tomorrow afternoon.

Just in case you're tempted to eat the brush! I understand. This conversation is making me feel uncomfortable. I need an adult. That said, I buy blue no-name "Bics" and zippity-zip-zip myself up with 'em a few times a week. Nertz to the newfangled multi-blade assault perpetrated by the unscrupulous razor manufacturers.

Libertarianism creeps the entire fuck clean out of me. Science has proven that it's the creepiest political philosophy, and plenty of evidence exists that indicates it could be the creepiest thing, period, this side of the ghost of Ayn Rand. The only thing I don't find creepy about it is its ambivalence towards American-style Christianity.

Wow, I'll beg to differ with that. The Antony song sounds like every damned Antony song I've ever heard, which is to say warbly, affected and horribly overwrought. Really don't like it at all. "Mowma take this badge offa mee-hee-hee-hee-hee..." The oldsters really seem to suffer here. Willie and Calexico's cover is a disasterpiece, and I think McGuinn sounds like he's on death's door. The Black Keys' Wicked Messenger is amazing, though, and in fact most of the first disc is stellar. John Doe's two songs are feckin' orsome, and I really like what Beam and Calexico did with Dark Eyes, nam

Soulseek, "armshanks." There you go. I spotted it elsewhere, too, though. Kinda hesitant to be throwing this info around anymore in light of recent torrent site news...

Ne'er mind. Found it! Lanegan's track sure as hell doesn't disappoint. He sounds more weary than intimidating, though, but the production is suitably Lanoisian.

Wait... where? (And don't say OiNK, smartasses!)

New Ryan Adams EP & more info on boxset...

I dig the EP a lot. RyAd's really recovered from his disappointing early/mid-2000s stumble, in my opinion. Almost everything he's put out since Cold Roses has been excellent. I think the title track, Blue Hotel, the AiC cover and the new recordings of This Is It and If I Am a Stranger are great. -

I'll take a page from your probable hero, Bill O'Reilly: SHUT UP. Seriously, shut the fuck up, hypocrite. Remember your cut-and-pasted polemic against Canadian healthcare? I do. And I'm willing to bet hard-earned money (which is something that is more important than people, don't forget) that if I were to scan this forum for posts that you've made, I could pluck out a number of other comments about Iraq, Afghanistan and any number of other non-American lands Another thing I think is horribly wrong with America: you guys can shove it in all the fucking way, but you sure as hell can't take i
