Ventura served as a small town mayor before he was governor, so I think he was actually more qualified, at least in terms of experience. In terms of competence, who knows.

I'm confused. I thought that Iraq's oil was supposed to pay for the war and that it wasn't going to cost us anything. Weird that they would have said that, and then for it to not work out that way. I totally don't get it.

Well here are the ESPN experts picks (yeah yeah, I know): http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs06/n...tory?id=2752062 14 pick the Colts 7 pick the Bears Yeah, the Colts are favored, but people are giving the Bears a chance.

Lots of Tele players here. Awesome.

Dean & Britta are married? Since when? I had no idea that they were even a couple.
-
There's an overwhelming concensus that they don't stand a chance? We must be following completely different media. The Colts have certainly been favored, but I've seen a good number of people picking the Bears too. I think that they definately have a much better chance of beating the Colts than they would have the Patriots, Chargers or Ravens. Colts are probably a little better, but definately not enough that the Bears can't win. I think it will be close, but I guess I'll give the Colts a little bit of an edge. I'll say 27-24.

Tried to take some pictures to show off my blue Tele last night. Turns out that a shitty camera phone combined with a poorly lit apartment makes it look black no matter what you do. Anyway, it pretty much looks like this: and my acoustic looks a whole lot like this:

I used to hear them pretty frequently on Detroit Public Radio (almost every song from AGIB, most of the songs from YHF, and several from Mermaid Avenue and Being There). Never heard them on commercial radio outside of Chicago though.

I'll post a pic later on tonight. It's purty. Shit dude. I wanna come play at your house.

I've got a blue Tele and a red Ovation. Love 'em both.

I won't be happy until I lose my legs (Guardian article)

Yeah, if this becomes a trend, then I'll worry for society. I'm sure that this isn't anything unique to this time in history. Just something that isn't talked about a lot. -

A few years ago there was a story about a guy who wanted to cut off both of his feet, and was trying to get X number of people to pledge to pay to watch him do it on pay-per-view so that he could use the money for whatever medical costs would be incurred. -
Kerry takes up 'Extra Innings' issue Posted: Thursday February 1, 2007 1:58AM; Updated: Thursday February 1, 2007 1:58AM WASHINGTON (AP) -- A proposal to make Major League Baseball's "Extra Innings" exclusive to DirecTV has drawn the ire of Sen. John Kerry. The Massachusetts Democrat said he plans to raise the matter with the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission at a hearing Thursday. "I am opposed to anything that deprives people of reasonable choices," Kerry said in a statement. "In this day and age, consumers should have more choices -- not fewer. I'd like to know how t

Is it up already? I thought they said it would be up Friday.

I wouldn't expect much out of him if he's elected, but I'm just curious if people feel that the political climate is such that he actually has a chance of winning. Certainly a better candidate than Jerry Springer, to compare him to another radio host considering a Senate run (even though Springer actually does have political experience), but other than that I don't know how seriously he'll be taken, although we are talking about a state that elected Jesse Ventura, so who knows.

Thanks, Rich. He lives there now, but I guess he was gone for sort of a long time. I think it's a reasonable criticism that he moved back so recently before running for office. But definately a much more legitimate Minnesotan than Hillary is a New Yorker.
-
So, what do you people all think his chances are? Can he be taken seriously as a legitimate candidate? Any Minnesotans here with any insight? Edit: Totally posted this on the wrong board. Fuck.
-
But since when has he been concerned with playing a song live exactly the same way it was played on the record?
-
Got it covered.
-
Haha, those people were all about to stop clapping until they remembered his earlier comments.
-
I seem to have lost the show. Dammit.

For my money, the greatest sing-along is Joe Jackson's "Real Men".
