Hello, I know there's someone out there who can understand And who's feeling the same way as me I'm 24 and I've got everything to live for But I know now that it wasn't meant to be 'Cause all has been lost and all has been won And there's nothing left for us to save But now I know that I don't want to be alone today So if you find that you've been feeling just the same Call me now, it's all right It's just the end of the world You'll need a friend in the world 'Cause you can't hide So call and I'll get right back If your intentions are pure I'm seeking a friend for the end of the world I'v

It's even funnier the second time.

There's no such thing. You're either for this album or you're against it.

Nah, I was mocking the fact that you had to defend your Wilco credentials more than I was mocking what you actually said. That guy is being a total douche. I haven't heard the album, but hey, some people seem to like it and some people don't. It's pretty ridiculous that anyone has to prove that they like Wilco just because they don't like this particular record.

I once crawled 32 miles with a broken leg and skin cancer to buy a Loose Fur CD. I then had all of the lyrics tattooed on my penis, which I then sold to a homeless man for 45 cents, because that's how much more I needed to buy a ticket to a Jeff Tweedy solo show. At the show I was shot in the face eleven times, but still had a great time. I have not heard the new album.

I'm enjoying reading all your comments, but I'm still holding out for the release. I don't know if I'm being simply dedicated to salvaging an exciting album release for myself, or just sort of stupid.

Boing Boom Tschak: Kraftwerk to play DEMF 2007
MrRain422 replied to beadsman's topic in Someone Else's Song
I was at that show, too. The performance was excellent, although I really don't like the main stage set up that they have at DEMF. Everyone is sooooooooooo far away from the stage. Probably works fine for the electronic acts, but for a show like George Clinton's, with so many musicians moving around and acting crazy, it was sort of a bummer to be so far away from the band. Even if you're way up front, you're not even close to the stage. -
If they wrote that into his contract. Which they might have. Wouldn't surprise me if that's become standard.

I agree.

De Stijl > GBMS = Elephant > The White Stripes > White Blood Cells

The best parts are when he tells them that they're free to leave, and they walk outside looking all relieved, only to be tackled by 6 cops as soon as they hit the sidewalk. It's pretty awesome.

The White Stripes are so much better than the Black Keys it's not funny.

I can't believe that it hasn't occured to a single one of you that they may just be releasing one of the songs that has already leaked.
-
Ah, I didn't know that. Cool.

That debuted in July '03. Several other AGIB songs had already been around for a while by then (ATLWYS, LTYT, Muzzle of Bees, Spiders, Handshake Drugs, Theologians). I think it was one of the last AGIB songs to debut, of those that were played before the album was released. I'm not sure if it's still considered YHF era at that point or not.

I'll take that bet.

Stick to weed, kid.

I bet that this is just some sort of spring training prank that they pull every season. The whole team is probably in on it. Just keep telling the same story and see if the press will report it again year after year after year. It's clever.
