Jack White is definately one of the best guitarists out there, although the Raconteurs don't showcase really at all, and the White Stripes records don't express it as well as the live show. Live he's unreal.

Jack White, John Frusciante and Nels Cline are probably my favorite active guitarists. Well, then and Roger Miller, but I wouldn't expect him to get recognized on this sort of thing.

Mayer. Feh. Pretty good list for the most part though.

Seems like more of a misunderstanding than a hoax to me. It's pretty ridiculous that that guy resigned, but this whole bomb scare business was much more effective advertising than those devices would have been without such a misunderstanding. Everyone knows about ATHF now.

Hmm...yeah, that would sort of be a deal breaker for me. Any of you who have ordered this already, please let us know what's in there once it arrives!

Yep. I remember the mad scramble to find out if the show was cancelled or not. And then of course during the show Iggy demanded all the lights be turned off so he could yell about the power outage for a bit. That was awesome. Oh man, I wanna see them again so badly. Hopefully a Chicago date, but if not I very well could go back to Detroit to see them.

Good point. I think that Pine Knob show was in 2003.

I'd be shocked if Guiliani got the nomination. Also, I've heard lots of people speculate about those ticket, so no, I didn't hear it here first.

The last few years of the Ramones was far more embarrassing than the current Stooges. Granted, I haven't heard their new album yet, but live they are still a force to be reckoned with.
-
I was at that Pine Knob show too, and holy shit were they great. Anyone who is even sort of a fan should go see them. I saw Iggy play solo at the State Theater a few years back. Not as fancy shmancy as the Fox, but still sort of a formal environment for Iggy. He was humping the statues that are next to the stage and everything. I'm sure he'll find some good ways to defile the Fox.

Sometimes I feel like I'm King Kaufman's publicist or something, because I talk him up so much. But as usual, he nails this issue:

In fairness, although are only two members of Smashing Pumpkins on board for this "reunion", it is at least the two most important members. Still a pretty lame idea though.

Yeah, but I don't think the Pistons are as good this year as they were in 2004. And San Antonio, Dallas and Phoenix are all better than the Lakers were that year. L.A. was incredibly overrated at the time, and no one really knew how to play the Pistons just yet. Now the Pistons style is a little more the norm. I certainly think they have a chance to go all the way this year, but I'm not counting on it.

Yeah, C-Webb was a good addition. Mohamed was terrible. Championship talk is premature, but I think that they're again the favorite in the east. Doesn't matter though -- whoever comes out of the east will likely get slaughtered by one of the better teams in the west. I'm keeping the faith though.

I refuse to accept Michael Bolton as a Wilco fan. It's just wrong.

The high today was 5. Currently 1, but feels like -12. This is considerably warmer than the past couple of days.

Congrats to Mountain Bed and the other Colts fans.

Graham makes a good point though. Lip service is still better than no lip service. It at least has the potential of getting people talking about the issue, which increases the possibility of future change. -
