I may be nitpicking, but I thought that whoever wrote that speech could have taken the time to find out what country Dikembe Mutumbo comes from. Seemed to ignore all of the political differences on the continent by saying that he came from "Africa" -- as if anywhere in Africa is the same as anywhere else.

Almost every football fan I know hates Peyton Manning. A lot of that stems from my Michigan ties (although Woodson ended up on top, we were conditioned to despise Manning in the weeks leading up to that Heisman presentation), however I definately know several people who hate him for unrelated reasons. I think that outside of Indiana and Tennessee, he's probably got more haters than fans.

Perhaps Obama would have voted for the war if he was in the Senate then -- hell, he probably would have. But I still think the fact that he did not vote for it is significant regardless of the circumstances, simply because, well, we need to get the fuck out of this war, and it would be difficult for someone who did vote for it to do it, because some of the blood is on their hands. Doesn't matter why Obama didn't vote for the war; the fact that he didn't gives him a little more moral authority to get us out of it than someone who did. Oh, don't get me wrong, I think a lot of people won't like him because he's black. And perhaps there are some people out there who think that the fact that his middle name happens to be the same as the last name of a dictator means something...but those people wouldn't vote for him anyway. Democrats certainly won't care what his middle name is. And middle of the road folks won't either. Those who will make a stink about it wouldn't vote for him anyway because he's black. His name would just be something else for them to get wound up about, but it isn't a difference maker.

Only mentally ill people will consider any candidate's middle name (or first or last name for that matter) as reason to vote or not to vote for them. Seriously, that's just stupid.

My ideal ticket would be Clark/Obama. Obama/Clark would be fine too.

This may finally be the year for the Colts now that no one was expecting it of them. I sure hope not though. I hate the Colts (except for Marlin Jackson -- he's my boy). I'd be fine with any of the other 3 teams winning.

8 more years is a long time. You really can't count on anyone to keep up any level of play for 8 years. Sometimes they do, but most don't. If he did maintain this level for 8 more years though, he'd be borderline.
