Nah, what's sad is that they didn't break up years ago.

Mesa will never be the Tigers closer, nor are they even talking about it. He's, at best, the #4 guy out of the pen. Jones will be the closer (at least to start the season). After him, the job would fall to either Zumaya or Fernando Rodney. Mesa is going to be used for middle relief, and probably not even the primary middle relief guy (which I'm thinking will probably be either Zach Miner or Wil Ledezma). And I am also afraid of Todd Jones as the closer. I'm not entirely sure what to expect out of the starting pitching. Kenny Rogers likely will slip some, but probably not a whole lot.

I tried this the other day. DVD quality picture (although unfortunately my computer monitor is tiny). The selection is pretty small at the moment, but I assume that it will grow over time. Basically, this kicks all sorts of ass.

That would be awesome.

Thanks. He's really good, and also really young. I might be jumping the gun by picking him to win it this year, but he's a pretty good candidate to get one or two somewhere along the way, and I sort of like being one of the first people on his bandwagon. I don't know a thing about Elijah Dukes but I'll take your word that he's good. I've got to dispute the assertion that Young has been unimpressive though. His call-up numbers last year were solid, and he's projected to be an absolute beast by pretty much everyone who bothers with those projections.

The Twins are a pretty risky bet considering how tight the division was last year, how much better it should be this year (well, Cleveland will be better anyway, and Detroit and Chicago should be just as good), and the giant holes in their starting rotation now. Also, I'm guessing that Daisuke won't have much trouble with the Marlins considering he's likely to be facing very few actual Major League hitters in that first appearance. Anyway, I guess I'll take a shot at this. AL East: Yankees AL Central: Tigers AL West: Angels Wild Card: Indians NL East: Mets NL Central: Cardinals NL Wes

I think there are probably zero consistently successful NCAA programs that are not in violation of something. It's nearly impossible to continually bring in high quality recruits with a 100% legit program. Greg Odin is gone after this year regardless.

Er...no. Only one of the Fab Five was proven to be, but there were several other players from later on who were also busted. Ann Arbor should be abuzz about the hockey team this time of year. The basketball team sure does stink though. Massively disappointing every year.

I'm holding off on listening to this album until the official release, but I have to ask, how does this "No Cars Go" compare to the EP version? Big changes?

I'm sure Thursday's show will be pretty awesome too...

U.S. House votes against troop escalation
MrRain422 replied to mountain bed's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Sorta. No, and I really hate this argument. For one thing, it assumes that our enemies aren't already emboldened. They are. Secondly, it seems to imply that our troops are a bunch of wilting flowers who will roll over and die if their mission doesn't have 100% support back home. Sorry, I think our troops are tougher than that. With the shit that they deal with on a day to day basis, a nonbinding congressional resolution isn't going to make them start crying. Aside from the fact that I would imagine that they're also intelligent enough to know the difference between someone disagreei -
I got tickets for the last Chicago date.

Make sure to get to the FDR memorial. If you're hanging around Lincoln and Jefferson, you'll probably end up there anyway, but really, make a point of going to it. It's awesome. Last time I was there I went to Mt. Vernon. It's a bit out of the city, and I don't know how easy it is to get there by public transport, but it's worth it if you can make it out there. Favorite restaurants: Cafe Asia in Rosslyn and Thai Phoon in Dupont Circle.

And this all went down last year?

It was really great meeting so many of you tonight. Good times.

Rogan wrote a lot about the incident on his website. If you take him at his word, his motive was that, well, he considers comedy to be an art, he puts a lot of work into writing and polishing his material, other comedians do too, and he just thinks its disrespectful to the form and to the work that others do to steal material. Says that Mencia has been known as a joke thief for a long time (to the point that comedians at the Comedy Store had started to signal to the comedian on stage when Mencia came into the room so that they wouldn't perform material that they were especially concerned abo

I dunno, they've played Leno.

He has a truly awful show on Comedy Central called Mind of Mencia. I don't know, I would have thought it was pretty awesome if I was in the audience. Of course I wouldn't be in the audience at a Carlos Mencia show, so never mind.

My favorite part is Bobby Lee not knowing who Carlos is, but knowing Ned.
