Sudden death isn't the same game.

And to supposed fiscal conservatives, it should be a huge deal.

It's pretty tough not to feel bad about losing a Verlander vs. Ponson matchup, even after everything that's gone wrong this year.

The college OT system is better than the pro system. But it still sucks. Why can't they just play another quarter?

Fundamentalist centrism is still fundamentalism.

It would bother me.

Here it is.

ABC News has confirmed that Palin was once a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that has pushed since the 1970s for Alaska to secede from the United States. I think that is a bigger issue than her pregnant daughter, too.
-
I definitely think it's possible that Biden could come across as a bully, but I at least hope that the last 8 years have taught people that knowledge and competence should trump likability. We'll see. As I said before, I really don't care about Palin's family. Her views are abhorrent enough to me that I know that I don't want her as my VP, so her family situation is pretty irrelevent.

So she believes that the mother's life is more valuable than the baby's? If that's a human life with full rights, then it's still murder to have an abortion whether or not the mother's life is in danger. Talk about hypocrisy.
-
Ah thanks, I actually hadn't seen the play yet. Looks like a hit to me too. I think they'll lose that appeal. Great game by Sabathia anyway.
-
That's really awesome how you're not at all misrepresenting the viewpoints that you disagree with. It's not really hypocritical though if you address the actual point being made rather than your own twisted made up version.
-
So what do you all think of the possible Sabathia no hitter? Yea or nay?
-
You make it sound as if the only two choices are either abortion or getting on an airplane from Texas to Alaska while already in labor.

There are enough legitimate arguments against Palin's candidacy that I couldn't care less if those highly unlikely rumors are true or not. Even if they are true (which again I highly doubt), it wouldn't disqualify her any more than her utter lack of knowledge about national and foreign policy issues already does.

BAITUSA and it's not even close.

It's gonna be a really rough year but I'm amped for it.

So is McCain abandoning the "experience" meme or what?
-
I didn't claim that there would be no strings attached.

Interesting. I wonder if the company that laid me off this year will somehow find out a way to lay me off again next year! Arguing the merits of the McCain tax plan would be a lot more effective if not for the fact that the last 8 years have proven them to be failing policies (except for the rich of course).

Oh, also, I wouldn't say that the speech really made me feel any more patriotic than I did before, but I did get a little emotional when the camera would pan to some older African-American audience member who was getting choked up. Every time I had to wonder just how long that person had been waiting to see this moment, what kind of things they'd endured earlier in their life that would have made a moment like that seem impossible and how impossible it even seemed to me not long ago. It was a pretty special moment.

I think it's good to be a little cynical, but only when that cynicism reflects reality and doesn't dictate what your reality is. I'm pretty cynical about the two party system myself, and Obama is lacking in a couple areas so he's not my ideal candidate, but it's a falsehood that the parties are always exactly as right and as wrong as each other, and it's a falsehood that both parties are always exactly as responsible and exactly as corrupt as one another, and it's a falsehood that their differences on policy are always too minor to be significant. Sometimes it's true, but this time it isn't
