Link doesn't work, but it comes up if you type it right into the address bar. Weird.

Seconded.

I already am.

Tony Conrad. Also the Inside the Dream Syndicate series, featuring John Cale, Tony Conrad, Angus MacLise, LaMonte Young, etc.

I think that Michigan students/alum take the game every bit as seriously as tOSU students/alum do. But the rest of the state of Ohio, those with no actual official connection to tOSU, take it way more seriously than the rest of the state of Michigan does.

Hmmm, young enough that this may not be his career year.

How old is he?

Because the policies that he supports actually make sense and show an understand of our country's current economic situation. McCain doesn't seem sure of what sort of economic policy he even wants, but when clear thoughts fight their way through, they seem to strongly resemble the Bush policies that are proven failures.

Obama to announce his running mate this Saturday in Springfield, IL. The last couple days the rumor mill had Biden as the front runner, but today Biden said it wouldn't be him, so who knows. I really hope it isn't Evan Bayh. McCain is to announce his next Friday in Ohio (the day after the Democratic National Convention ends) on his birthday.

There was also that Supreme Court thing.

Nah, I believe it. Threet was never meant to be a starting quarterback, least of all this year. Greg Mathews will be okay but the rest of the receiving corp will be a disaster, and I don't know if I trust Brandon Minor/Carlos Brown to be good enough to open up the passing game anyway, though maybe McGuffie will make an impact right away. I didn't see that show, but I'm sticking with 7-5 for the time being.

Kinsler's injury helps CQ's case.

There's a pretty good case to be made. He's definately in the top 3 or so.

Yeah, I was gonna say, Gore didn't exactly set the world on fire in the 2000 debates. 2004 was a different story though. Kerry was the better debator in all of them, but especially the first, which was definately Kerry's peak in the campaign coinciding exactly with Bush's worst performance. The contrast between them at that first debate was unbelievable. But the next couple debates were closer, and lots of other things happened in between. I think the debates probably do sway a few people, but I don't think they make nearly as big an impact as several other components of the campaign.

Yeah, South Park skewers liberals, but they skewer conservatives just the same. I wouldn't really call it conservative satire.
-
The right doesn't do satire well. It's just not their medium, in the same way that the left is bad at talk radio.

I don't think I'd get that worked up over anything the Politico published. But if it helps: 1) Race. Yeah, that's the elephant in the room for both sides. It's certainly a factor, though how big of a factor is impossible to determine. This is a legitimate concern, but so far out of the candidate's control that it's not worth fretting over. 2) Obama

The "I so don't care about the Olympics" thread
MrRain422 replied to bjorn_skurj's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I always forget how much I love the Olympics until they're in full swing and I'm glued to the TV. The summer games grab me more than the winter games, but in both I can usually find a new sport I've never cared for before that is now drawing my interest, on top of the old favorites that draw me in. This year's Olympics is already among the most exciting in a while. Totally loving swimming and basketball, and surprised by how entertaining I'm finding the gymnastics and diving. Looking forward to watching some baseball soon. -
This is essentially what you are doing as well, except you're also being a big dick.

Right but they're playing for next season now.

It never ceases to amaze me...

I just think that there are enough things in his record in Congress and the way he's managed his campaign to make all of this irrelevent. What's the point of attacking a candidate with unlikely speculation from 40 years ago when there are a lot of things about who he is now to go after? And taking that tack just encourages Obama's opponents to exaggerate crazy rumors about his past too. It's not much different from the secret Muslim emails. Voting to allow torture is crazy enough whether you've been tortured or not. His change in stance regarding torture is deplorable enough without h -
"Come On Over (Turn Me On)" was stuck in my head for like 3 months.

They just lost Crawford and Longoria to injuries though, so things could be rough for them down the stretch.
