I will also be at the show. The bars around there aren't all that exciting. The Uptown Lounge is awful. The Kinetic Playground isn't much better. The Green Mill is, of course, fantastic, but I assume not really what you're looking for as far as pre-show bars go. There's the Spot, a bit down on Broadway, near Montrose. I have not been there. On Montrose is the Driftwood, which is pretty so-so, which is to say not bad but nothing special. If you want to drift a little bit further south, there's Bar on Buena, which is pretty awesome, though overpriced.

So are we done with the Frank TV commercials then?

Paul is appealing because he's the only one who seems to live in the same reality as the rest of us in regards to the war and foreign policy in general. He's principled, which sets him apart from pretty much everyone else in the field, especially on the Republican side. But he's also the single most likely candidate out of all of them to move to have Roe v. Wade overturned if elected, and that's just one problem with him. I think that cryptique is right, in that a lot of his supporters don't really know what he stands for.

Congrats Rockies fans!!

While interviewing Wily Tavares, Craig Sager states that Tavarares's excellent play in game 2 may have "turned the whole thing around" for the Rockies. The Rockies had already been rolling for weeks when Tavares made that play.

Al Gore? -
This op-ed is funny, but I prefer him on the ert to in print.

I was at both of those shows. The Clutch Cargo show was wild, but the Chene Park show was the better of the two. The White Stripes brought out a few songs they don't/didn't do very often, and Jack sang to the people in boats in the river behind the stage. Awesome.

Oh yeah, there's usually all sorts of parking around there so long as you get there early enough, but if not, that Adams street underground garage is really cheap. Or at least it used to be. I know I used to pay like $5 to park there, although I guess it may have gone up.

To be fair, he is sharing the award with the UN panel. They did the work, but it would have all been for naught without someone to make it a big issue with the public. Sure, he's repeating someone else's scientific work, but I think that getting the evidence out there can be just as important as collecting the evidence when it comes to actually acting on it. -

I'm confused by the direction this thread has taken. Is Al Gore god? -
The White Stripes, White Blood Cells record release, June something, 2001, the Magic Stick, Detroit. I've seen them many times since then, but this was my first and maybe the greatest. It was just before they really broke out, and it was pretty clear to everyone there that they were going to. I've never been to a show there that was so packed and with the entire crowd so amped. Also was at the Blanche record release for If We Can't Trust the Doctors at the Magic Stick, which was the show where Jack White and Jason Stollsteimer got into their scuffle. Arcade Fire, also at the Stick, Oct

Is one specific review really deserving of its own thread when the album already has its own? Just wondering.

I agree with much of that list.

This season is crazy.

Teams that are bad for long periods of time get that way by making stupid personnel decisions. I think that Dusty Backer is a perfect fit for the organization. It makes total sense. Sort of glad I missed this. I think I would have thrown something at my television. They are the best evidence out there that Fox hates baseball.

Go to the Bronx at 2nd and Prentiss.

I like simple straightforward songs, I just think the ones on SBS aren't very good.

The second loss is why they haven't made it back into the rankings, yes, but does not explain why the dropped so far after the first loss. Personally, as a Michigan fan, I expected Michigan to drop that far and am not really complaining about that, but I do think USC should have been penalized more for their loss if that's the way the system is going to work.

I like brussel sprouts' first album, but everything after that was crap.

If it is all an act (which I highly doubt), then she's even more dispicable than if it's sincere.
