Feinstein and Schumer caved yesterday. He is going to be confirmed.

Fortunately there is an endless number of these, and hard work is all it takes to guarantee securing one. What a country! Congratulations. Your experience will necessarily reflect everyone else's 100% of the time. Fantastic.

I don't know. Maybe anyone with a conscience? Yes, waterboarding is torture. And no, our country should not be engaging in things like this. This issue is so cut and dry that the debate about it is absolutely infuriating. This isn't a conservative vs. liberal issue. This isn't even a security vs. civil liberties issue. This is just a matter of, is this right? Is this the type of country that we want to be? The answer, to me, is such an obvious no to both questions that I cannot believe that it's even an issue. I admit that I was predisposed against Bush from the beginning, but I ho

He didn't say he could contribute only to a winner. He was saying that he feels that he is still good enough to help out a good team. And why shouldn't he want to play for a good team? Every player does.

I like Edwards. No question that Billy boy hurt his own cause with his out of control weiner, but I don't think you can blame that for the initial Whitewater nonsense, being accused of killing Vince Foster, etc.

I lived for a year in Buena Park, which is wedged in between Uptown and Wrigleyville. The stretch of Uptown along Broadway can look a little rundown and scary, but I never had any problems there. That being said, I prefer where I am now (Noble Square) to that part of the city. -
The reason that Pablo Honey is a bad starter album, though, is that it has absolutely nothing in common with what came after. If someone is looking for a place to start to see if they may want to explore Radiohead further, it is useless, because no matter whether they love it or hate it, it's not going to clue them into whether they'll like anything else by them.

Yeah, Scar Tissue was a much better read than I'd expected. He's pretty candid about just about everything.
-
I hate Curt Schilling, but yeah, he'd make the team better, so I'd have to learn to like him if the Tigers got him. I get the feeling that he's not really in their plans though. I'd be really surprised if Robertson was back next year. Until the other day, I would have thought that Jair Jurrjens was going to be the number 5 starter, but seeing as he's gone, it probably means Miller will have it. I think Miller is going to be very good, but I'm not convinced that he's ready yet. Unless they sign someone new, I'm thinking they start the season with Durbin in the 5 slot, with Miller, Miner a

Who do you want him to let shoot more? Kwame Brown?

I was rooting for Colorado, but come on, that's just sour grapes right there. Not only were the Red Sox substantially better in the World Series, but they proved themselves to be a better team all season.
-
Oh god, I would be ecstastic if the Tigers got Adam Dunn.

Jimmy Fallon is good cause for a new curse, IMO.

He was a fan favorite, just not a fans favorite.

Can someone explain to me why it's so accepted that Renteria can't play in the AL? He certainly had one of his worst seasons in the year that he was in Boston, but it was not substantially different from the season he had in St. Louis the season before. It always seemed to me that perhaps he just had a bad year, and it wasn't necessarily due to playing in the AL. I'm not saying that this accepted wisdom on Renteria is wrong, just that I haven't ever heard a real explanation for it. So maybe someone can fill me in.

Still a question mark in left field, the back end of the rotation, and the bullpen, but this was probably the biggest hole, so I'm glad they get it patched up nice and early. I think that Zumaya is probably the closer next year.
-
That's why? Are you sure?
-
Whatever. Magic 8 ball is probably a Notre Dame fan anyway.
-
You're right, once they get rid of the best player in the game, everything will turn up roses for them. And the problem most certainly is "heart", and not pitching. It's never pitching.
-
I like Jurrjens, but this is a good move. And I'm taking the haste in which this move was made as a sign that the Tigers are going to be aggressive this off-season. Can't wait to see what else they do.
