  1. Huh. I was thinking that Draco had kept Dumbledore's wand (the Elder Wand) after disarming him, and Dumbledore was buried with a decoy wand, which Voldemort mistakenly thought was the Elder Wand. I guess it makes sense that the wand's allegiance stays with the "disarmer"...the wand chooses the wizard. Add me to the list of huge geeks.
  2. Sorry I missed this...I'm glad you had a wonderful day!
  3. If the walls in the room could talk I wonder to myself would they laugh It's like some kind of jail Beams of light Fall from the curtains onto the bed I'm all alone now; I can do as I please I don't feel like doing much of anything True love ain't that hard to find Not that you will ever know Would you lay here for awhile? Please do not let me go Please do not let me go You were sweet enough to sing Oblivious to melody Red suitcase full of clothes Washed up on a shore of memories I'm all alone now and I feel just fine I don't feel much like doing anything True love ain't that hard to find N
  4. I'm calling out to ghosts That are no longer there. I'm getting hard on myself, Sitting in my easy chair. Well there's three people In the mirror And I'm wondering Which one of them I should choose. But I can't keep from laughing Spitting out these three hundred m.p.h. Outpour blues. I'm breaking my teeth off Trying to bite my lip. There's all kinds of redheaded women That I ain't supposed to kiss. And it's that color which never fails To turn me blue. So I just swallow it, And hold on to it, And use it To scare the hell out of you. I have a woman that says "come and watch me bleed." And I
  5. Flan in the face! I love that song. And lest we forget "Where I End and You Begin"...so good. Hail To the Thief is a great album, IMO. I'm definitely excited about the new album, and hopefully another US tour.
  6. Agreed. Granted we all have different tastes, but the mix I made as an introduction for my sister (who is now a HUGE Ryan Adams fan) was way different. It went something like this (as you can see, I say keep Whiskeytown separate): To Be Young My Winding Wheel Oh My Sweet Carolina Call Me On Your Way Back Home La Cienega Just Smiled Somehow, Someday When the Stars Go Blue Touch, Feel and Lose (maybe the acoustic one) Dear Chicago Chin Up, Cheer Up Magnolia Mountain Sweet Illusions Meadowlake Street Now That You're Gone Let It Ride A Kiss Before I Go Hard Way To Fall The Hardest Part My Hear
  7. They played a show at the YMCA in Toronto yesterday: http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment...87c&k=68294 Still no word on a Montreal "sideshow"...
  8. well you sure didn't look like you were having any fun with that heavy-metal gaze they'll have to measure in tons and when you look up at the sky all you see are zeros all you see are zeros and ones you took my hand and led me down to watch a kewpie doll parade we let the kittens lick our hair and drank our chalky lemonade it's not that I just didn't care I must admit I was afraid and I'm awfully glad my finger's resting gently on the masterfade the masterfade I coulda played along the masterfade I coulda played Mah Jongg but it just takes too long and I just can't remember which way the e
  9. And I'm taking it SO seriously. Stupid me!!!
  10. These people don't know what they're missing.
  11. Wow, that sounds like a dream! It's awesome that you were able to go. Also, it's good to see something from Flaming Pie finally making it onto one of his setlists. Bring on a full U.S. tour!
  12. Seconded. I liked Richard Ashcroft's solo stuff, too. If there's a US tour in the works, I might have to check it out.
  13. Yeah, the bagpipes are only on 2 songs: Kinda small, but in the middle section it says, "Bagpipes on 'Prickly Thorn But Sweetly Worn' and 'St. Andrew' performed by Jim Drury."
  14. Hey, I'm just happy they're playing a general admission venue in Chicago again.
  15. It's not bad...I haven't been there since 2003 (I think), but my only complaints were that it was hot as hell inside, and it can take forever to exit the place after a show. Other than that, I liked it.
  16. #1 album in the UK. Greg Kot's loving it: from http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/tur...rock/index.html Also, Greg and Jim discuss Icky Thump on Sound Opinions (after the hip hop discussion). "This album's an unqualified masterpiece!": Sound Opinions
  17. Huh. Sounds awesome to me...maybe I have unrefined ears.
  18. I'm not saying Toe Rag has a low engineering ethic, I'm saying they use vintage equipment and stuff...and no computers. I think Elephant sounds great, too. Here are some excerpts from interviews that kinda say what I'm trying, and apparently failing, to say:
  19. So Kyle, are there going to be an smaller, GA venues on this tour?
