It the cheering period in the middle of a quiet reflective song. It's akin to somebody screaming out during Remember the Mountain Bed. If you need to have your existence validated by shouting out in the middle of a quiet song, then, I'm sorry, I call it a douchebag move. Happens in every concert situation where there is a quiet intimate moment. Noah, You've heard it a million times as have I. Don't try to tell you me you haven't thought "what a douchebag" when it happens. -
Agreed. But he wasn't. So it's a good thing.

At least one great injustice has been rectified (and I am completely serious)

Where are the Marlins coming up with all this cash? Signing Reyes...WHY? They already have a brilliant young short stop in Ramirez. He's better that Reyes on defense and offense. The Marlins looking to trade Ramirez for pitching? Going to risk pissing him off by asking him to move to third? What's the word you hear bobbob?

I checked Metacritic to see if there were some less than positive review out there, and it has a score of 89 or universally acclaimed. The only place you find people not falling over themselves for this one is here. -

Sounds like the venue goon just discovered the capitalist spirit. -
Why would you ask? If you like it,fine. If you don't, equally fine. Nobody is expected or required to voice or defend their opinions. Me, I kind of like it.

My son informed me a friend of his has a role in this video. How times have changed. That would have a major deal in my day.

I'm wondering if Jeff is getting tired of the douchebag factor (the whooping out at inappropriate in the song). I told my son that there would be some DB cheering out when when the 'it's you God I don't believe in..." and I was correct. TheDB Factor is killing us all. -

Man oh man...you have a LOT of good television ahead of you. -
I've got one last post and then I'll stop 'pissing all over this thread' and stop 'whining'. I am pretty down that I have been totally sidetracked by the poor opinion that some people had about the show. I'm a grown man (WAY past 21) and I should be able to shrug it off. I should have been able to move past the negative opinions of others and post about my adventures at the show with my son, but a lot of the joy of sharing personal stuff here has been leached away for me. Notice how I now refer to the 17-year companion of my declining years as 'my son' and not by the nickname I have call

RBI may be deceptive, but it is a concrete, measurable stat. The very definition of WAR points to the reason why I find it, well, to be perfectly honset, silly. "WAR calculates the total number of wins that any player adds to his team over the course of a season by comparing the player's performance with that of a fictitious replacement" Read it again. "Comparing the player's performance with that of a fictitious replacement." I understand it, I grasp the concept. It just sounds like debating Keynesian economics.

What bad press? Bad reviews from Bleed Orange. Atticus and Bbop. And me going apeshit and overreacting.

I think it's like a dance. If everybody in front of me is sitting...I'll sit so as to not bother the people behind me. (As I did Tuesday night) If everybody in front is standing...I'll stand. (as I did Tuesday night...even though he was the only person standing) If the spirit moves me...I will stand or sit, as the case may be. (AS I DID TUESDAY NIGHT) If there are seats in a venue, there usually is a bit of a constraint in the ability to stand comfortably...sloped floors, narrow width of standing space. Just use some common sense and courtesy. And if somebody is standing and you want them

Doesn't affect the A+ nature of her boobage. Just makes you wonder about her judgement. -
Good point. My response point here is that it is individualized to ballparks. The NFL moved the hash marks in the mid-70's to help open up the running game. MLB didn't move first base to 99' from the plate. There have been two basic changes to baseball in a structural sense in the last111 years. The ball was officially 'livenend' in the early 20's and the mound was lowered prior to the '69 season.

True. But they haven't change the very nature of the game a la the changes the NFL made in the late 70's to ease up the defense's advantage over the passing game.
