  1. Oh man, in the first 20 seconds I got the message that they were unable to find 2 tickets next to each other, after that all tickets were reserved. Bummer. So, when does the next batch go on sale? Tomorrow?
  2. I heard last week that they're probably coming back to Europe in July. For what it's worth.
  3. My gf and I are planning a trip to NYC around her 30th birthday on March 18, so it's needless to say I'm stoked about the Beacon Theatre announcement. However, I'm afraid it will be tough to get tickets. Any advice for a Dutch kid who never visited the States so far - or is it just a matter of logging in to the presale site and pray for the best?
  4. Also available here: https://davidnagler.bandcamp.com/album/carl-sandburgs-chicago-poems
  5. As someone somewhat close to the matter, I have to say that early album leaks rarely happen these days. Don't know if that's due to safety precautions, or the 'music scene' just losing interest in taking the effort. Lately, I've only seen pre-release leaks from bands who decided to send out early mp3 copies to those who preordered the album. Which definitely isn't the case with Schmilco. By the way, 9/9 is going to be an insane release day.
  6. Any fellow-VC'ers planning to visit this?
  7. It was definitely available on Tidal and Qobuz. And if I remember correctly, it was also freely available on iTunes.
  8. Star Wars dropped on July 16th, but the CD wasn't released until the end of August (and the vinyl came two months later). That official tweet tells me something's in the air..
  9. I'm ready. Bring it on!
  10. Absolutely not! https://mobile.twitter.com/marijnonline/status/753851991646928896 (You just had to be part of a tiny European crew )
  11. Did some 'detective work' earlier this week, and according to this site, another new single will be released on Wednesday: http://www.noise11.com/news/music-news-new-music-releases-for-15-july-2016-20160715
  12. Is that Pennyghael's recording, or a different one?
  13. Hey, that's not fair - editing out the Leuven part after my reply.
  14. As a fellow Dutchman, I can assure you that people writing about 'Dutchie-gate' at the Leuven gig are clearly missing the point. After a couple of songs, Tweedy told the audience that they were having more fun than the audience the night before. At that point, I shouted "but they were Dutch!", which transformed into a running gag, especially when some other Dutchies at the front shouted *they* surely were having fun. At one point during the show, Jeff jokingly assured everyone that he wasn't in a position to dislike the Dutch, the French or any other population, "because I'm American". Over
  15. Prague 2010 is also missing. Which sucks, because now the list of attended shows on my Wilcoworld-profile is incomplete.
  16. The cd player in my mother's car ate my deluxe version of TWL; it won't play past Born Alone. One more reason to abandon the damn thing.
  17. Eight tees and a horrendous brown jacket.
  18. I was surprised to find one at my local record store. Paid 15 euros for it.
  19. Who's that handsome fellow in the last 2 seconds?
  20. I don't think there will be an integral radio broadcast of the show, just some songs. I'll try to record the Cultura24 broadcast though.
  21. Actually, I think this might be good news for independent record stores. There'll always be a market for physical media, wheter it's vinyl or plastic discs. People just don't want to buy a disc for every single song they hear on the radio; that's why the cd single disappeared a few years ago. If Walmart and Best Buy discontinue their cd sales, people might return to the smaller stores. I for one still enjoy buying cd's, but they usually end up unused in my closet, because most of the time I already downloaded a lossless copy.
