  1. The CM version of "Those I'll Provide" can be purchased here: https://bloodshotrecords.bandcamp.com/album/nashville-the-other-side-of-the-alley-insurgent-country-vol-iii Edit: Nevermind, that is the same version as on the AM reissue
  2. Here's a still life of the little shrine in my home office: A few disclaimers: 1) I'm very well aware of the anachronism in having a YHF cover signed by Mikael, Nels and Pat. Sue me 2) The cover is actually empty and the radiator stays off most of the time. 3) This photo proves that I'm not a graphologist per se, but rather a sharp recognizer.
  3. Did you sign it yourself, pretending to be in the band? That's a sad thing to do, Donna... (JK! That's MJ's handwriting, right?)
  4. Is it just me, or does “Ten Dead” really sound a lot like Jason Molina/Magnolia Electric Company’s “Song For Willie”?
  5. And according to this article (in Dutch, so use ChatGPT or Google Translate or whatever) this phenomenon indeed found its origin in the stadium of local football team FC Utrecht
  6. Some context for those who are confused about the “Uuuuuuu” jokes 😄
  7. The Jeff-Nels interaction you mentioned actually started before the song, with Jeff hitting a completely different (rather false) opening chord and teasingly telling Nels “I changed that song… just now”. Then, after the song, someone in the audience yelled “NELS F’ING CLINE!”, hence the middle name joke. Regarding your first paragraph, the TivoliVredenburg website (still) notes: “Let op: Wilco speelt op deze avonden twee verschillende sets!”, which translated as “Please note: Wilco will be playing two different sets on these nights”. In hindsight technically correct, of course, but
  8. They'll probably use the upcoming European tour to test the waters and play some new songs, like they did in 2019 just before the release of OTJ. Last European date is 9/9 and the American leg of the tour starts at 9/26, so my guess for a release date would be 9/15 or 9/22. For announcement + first single I'm going with first week of July.
  9. Any updates? Pretty quiet on the Roadcase front lately....
  10. Pittsburgh, PA / Jun 21, 2003 is now available.
  11. Just noticed that both albums (WHIA + KATPA) are now (finally!) available on all major streaming platforms.
  12. I was just listening to Love Is Hell, and “The Shadowlands” absolutely has the same vibe.
  13. The inexplicable typo on the front cover makes you wonder how much effort they're really putting into these Nugs-releases...
  14. I believe the festival already sold out in 2020, and I didn't bother chasing after tickets this year. Instead, I had some family duties to attend (on an Ibizan beach ). Hopefully the world doesn't fall apart again this fall, so the band can make a swift return to Europe after their US/CA dates. I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped The Netherlands after the Schiphol fiasco though...
  15. Someone on the Steve Hoffman forums posted this last week. Surprised that it hasn’t been mentioned here on VC yet: Edit: wait, does the image work? I added it via mobile; I'll try again later when I'm home. Anyway, it's a snippet from a local Minnesota radio station that mentions a double album to be released next month. 987F4556-ED61-4511-AF81-F63B647D5471.webp
  16. Aw man, I've been waiting for a proper digital (lossless) release of WHIA for years now, so I'm sad to see that it's vinyl only. Any chance that these albums will eventually make it to Bandcamp or streaming sites? I mean, they were freely available for years, so there's hardly any exclusiveness. Even an included download voucher would probably make me shell out on the vinyl...
  17. Happy birthday VC + VC'ers It boggles my mind to think that I joined this site 18,5 years ago... that's nearly half my life!
  18. Looks like they skipped the September release, or did I miss something?
  19. When the band offered a free Vimeo stream of IATTBYH in May of last year, the accompanying website mentioned the following: We're now almost 1,5 year later, and I haven't seen a reissue yet. It would be absolutely fantastic if they included a Bluray disc with a deluxe reissue of the album. After all, the Mermaid Avenue anthology also included a dvd of Man In The Sand.
