I can relate. I haven't bought a Dead release in years. I think the last one I bought was Dick's Picks 12 (6/28/74 is the best GD show in my opinion) all those years ago. Yet I have everything they've ever released, as well as about 1500 hours on cassette tape in my garage. No need to keep spending money. I've paid my dues.

Dead Set? Okay, this explains why you do not like the Dave's Picks releases. I never thought I would hear somebody say that they would prefer Dead Set to an unedited performance recording.

I really dig the sound on Sailor > Saint from the new one. Of course, this pairing defines the early 80s sound for me. Always nice to hear another fine rendition of clean quality.

Too much chocolate cake and it just doesn't taste as good. Everything in moderation. Anymore I don't listen to too much of anything. Wilco has become band that gets their turn on random while music is playing around the house but I rarely put on any of their records. But if and when I do, it's going to be special. Like the occasional piece of chocolate cake.

I used to be a 50+ show a year guy. But kids, family, etc., has decreased this drastically. I also have found that as I am getting older it is more difficult for me to stand for shows with any more than two bands before my feet and back start hurting. I also found myself leaving shows early out of boredom -- a definite sign that too much is too much. And lastly, I am too easily annoyed by drunks, talkers, space invaders, and other assholes who tend to suck the pleasure out of the listening/viewing experience. 10-20 shows a year for me anymore, and very selective about which ones I attend.

Blue is the Warmest Color - France (2013) I had the opportunity to catch this in the theater on Friday night. It's been awhile since a film has made such an impression. It’s difficult to express in words why this film is so important other than to say it is one of the most natural and real depictions of young love I can remember seeing on the big screen. Honest and fresh.

I did not. Just kinda stumbled upon her by chance a couple weeks ago. Loved the new record so I checked out all of her other five (or six) albums and none of them disappoint. But I particularly like her sound on the last three: Wed 21, Un Dia, and Son. She's been a heavy contributor to the rotation while hanging out around the house and with headphones at work.

I know it was just released today, but Juana Molina's "Wed 21" has to be one of the best records I've heard all year.

I saw Youth Lagoon a couple nights ago. Fantastic show! His records are both great but I wasn't expecting much in terms of performance but had to go anyway. I was pleasantly surprised with his stage presence, particularly when we came out to sing stage-front. The songs were all extended from their album length and sounded much better than on record, which unfortunately isn't true for many live acts these days.

I saw him this past winter and enjoyed the show immensely. One of the best 10 dollar shows I have seen in a long time. Such a nice guy, too. Really loves his fans. His album 151a is one of my favorite records of 2012. I second this recommendation.

The guy didn't have a good time. Nothing "clueless" about that. I've seen many shows that didn't meet my expectations and were, therefore, pretty much disappointing. I completely understand Remphish's perspective. I really don't get yours.

My wife survived the 6/10/73 Dark Star today. I explained to her this Dark Star is like an EF5 Dark Star. "Close your eyes and enjoy it" was out of the question.

I'm the guy who doesn't like this record. At all. I tried twice and had to turn it off. What is it that is go great? Seriously, so bad I removed it from my Ipod.
