  1. Sandoz and redjim are band members and this thread is hilarious...especially redjim's review of SBS! btw, i love SBS.
  2. this is a really weird thread. the OP is obviously a band member or a really board computer geek troll.
  3. cool. thanks for the link. can't wait to check this out. as far as gilmour goes, i think he's supposed to play a European gig.
  4. love the cover art. the samples seem pretty good. reminds me a bit of that instrumental pronto disc.
  5. right. he wasn't on the wall either, from what i gather. jff-i'm going downtown to phillips and try for a cheap ticket. you going to this show?
  6. i'm gonna try for a cheap ticket to the atlanta show. anyway, a quick question on floyd. were the songs on Final Cut leftovers from the Wall?
  7. umm, this season is fast becoming the best season yet! started out kind of rough, but the arc is very compelling as are the new characters.
  8. for a minute there i thought you were equating new age and prog! whew! i need some mellow music to listen to. i might check this out. i actually loved that first enya album.
  9. there probably isn't any difference. i just think i hear a difference, which if probably a delusion :-)
  10. Great topic. Love the cover of that Roche's record. For me it's Siamese Dream from Smashing Pumpkins. In the 90s i was steeped in grateful dead and phish. i avoided the mainstream. Somehow I got into this album. So, so great! I got a free ticket to see them on the first tour for this album where they were playing small, small venues. They opened with Soma. After I got over the initial shock of the mosh pit, I slide back and just loved that spacey grungy rock they were so good at back then.
  11. i was just curious. i gave up torrents 3 years ago.
  12. is this like the pig? what is this?
  13. yeah, i really hope quinn becomes the new fall guy here. that would be satisfying. at the same time, someone's gotta find out about dexter and they have to at least address how all this crazy stuff has happened to them over the years...three serial killers, jimmy smits, dex's wife...at least on buffy they had the hell mouth excuse:)
  14. this seems to hit close to home for you. addicts don't wake up one day and decide to drink/drug their lives to shit. same as one does not wake up one day and decide to actively try to get cancer so they can go to a hospice. it is baffling.
  15. yes, the most recent research is indicating that the survival part of the brain is a major player. frontal lobe i believe. kind of like if i saw someone try to hurt my child, all morality goes out the window and survival mode kicks in. for addicts, taking a drink/drug is literally like life or death when actively using. i too am liking harlem river. good stuff. well said. glad for the success for him and blood shot.
  16. the dude has a disease called addiction. all the note taking and self awareness is meaningless when actively using. he's not an idiot, he's sick. i have a feeling he will will be back soon. he seems to have had some solid sober time in the past. that bodes well for him.
  17. jazz raga sounds intriguing. gonna go check that out right now!
  18. good point. forgot about that. neil's guitar really sounded good on that.
  19. i LOVE that he wants dylan to sign self-portrait. AWESOME!
  20. def going to atlanta. saw them here during the circles tour and it was so great. eddie's is small though. may not get any windmills:)
  21. http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/turn_it_up/2010/09/concert-review-roger-waters-performs-the-wall-at-united-center.html Greg Kot's review. Too bad he doesn't review the performance, but instead reviews The Wall.
  22. yes, ragged glory can be seen as a classic. i was just thinking of his run from 69-79 that was legendary. good point about the other classic rock acts. recently went to see petty and was hoping to hear a bunch of the new album jammed out live. to no avail. played hit after hit and to the comment above about 'not defending Fork or Passionate?'--hilarious and right on:)
  23. i'm not sure he is getting a bad rap. his tours have been huge the last decade. my question is when is it time to hang it up? if he can't sing the wall, then why take it on the road? for the light show and he is just standing there? it's not just roger, it's kind of an issue that has plagued dylan and others of the classic rock generation. i'm wondering when it will all be over and what it will be like. will arenas be able to survive on coldplay and u2 shows for the next 20 years? just some thoughts. it's also amazing to me that lots of people, me included, still get super excited abou
