  1. can albums released in the 90s and beyond really be remastered? i'm looking forward to these none the less. HTH is one of the greatest albums ever and definitely one of the top ten albums of the 90s as far as i'm concerned. TTGG is not too far behind. Ten Little Kids, though, uh oh.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb5dtn9tVpU&feature=channel this is one of my favorite bruce songs. i love this version. is it in front of an audience? anyway, love hearing bruce's guitar at the forefront.
  3. to me it's like any other huge artist. fans who love the 'sound' of bruce are loving this set. i'm a casual fan i've decided. i like more than the top hits, but not everything. the new set has a few great songs to these ears, the promise and racing in the streets. everything just doesn't move me. for the fan though, this is a gold mine. kind of like neil young's archives were supposed to be for me have really been enjoying the respectful thread here.
  4. nice post AMan. i too like to hear stuff the way it was/is. most artists have a good sense about what should go on an album....both for themselves and the fans. even ryan adams:)
  5. 'okay, and stop calling me Shirley.' comedic star. loved the old police squad from the early 80s.
  6. also, seeing shonna in that preview playing guitar was very cool. i'm gonna go back and give her songs another serious listen.
  7. thanks for posting this. i missed it somehow. in the preview patterson says that they'll have a single out for record store day nov. 26??? so is record store day now biannual? anyway, cool preview. this sound on what i've heard seems to be a lot warmer and immediate and not the live garagy sound of the big to do. i'm looking forward to it.
  8. luman is also the most likable of any of dex's girlfriends so far.
  9. thanks for this cool link. i love this shit. however, it looks quite overwhelming at first glance. especially all the takes and such. btw- i really wish they'd release the remastered darkness by itself.
  10. that is a killer setlist. i don't torrent, but hope i can find it on a blog. thanks for posting.
  11. i second the Willie recommendations above (Phases, and Red Headed). Also love Dwight Yoakam. His more recent album Population Me is excellent with a little alt. country california rock thrown in.
  12. last night Bluebirds Fall was so great. don't want to spoil, but they're not doing the big star tune. they are doing sentimental lady by bob welch. cheesy and awesome! btw-pat is a great lead player and john is so great at rhythm. i hope the new wilco album involves them in a writing/arranging role because they both are masters of their craft. not derivative at all yet totally in the tradition of great pop.
  13. just got back from the atlanta show. so great. these guys are such professionals. loved every second of it. the stage was kind of small though, so pat couldn't do any windmills:( just love john and pat's songs. hope they tour again soon.
  14. i have lost interest this season. they should have stayed working at the hotel. that was funny. parker's character is not funny anymore. she's just a horrible person now.
  15. Beat me to it! "...from Troy Michigan, STILLWATER!!" Feverdog!!
  16. i am really enjoying this album. seeing them wednesday night. can't wait to hear the new ones live
  17. bruce seems pretty set on another E street tour. how long that will last, i'm not sure. i bet the touring is as easy as possible for the main members of the band. at the same time, traveling is rough. that being said, neil, bruce, dylan, etc. these dudes are gonna die on the road. i would love to see bruce do a solo record and then go out on the road with a small band. bass, drums, piano and bruce on acoustic and electric. he could do some of his acoustic stuff and really give some of the lucky town stuff a fair shake. that was a great album. he could probably do the small band acou
  18. hope you have fun. i wasn't trying to correct you at all...i was just wondering if you had some info i didn't :-) i'm seeing autumn defense this week and cannot wait. second time for me.
  19. i'm pretty sure this is a jay farrar solo show and not son volt. i wish jay would come down south solo.
  20. glad the archives stuff is okay. too bad about LincVolt. there's also rumors of a buffalo springfield tour this summer!
  21. wait outside and get a cheap ticket ($20). i've seen bruce 3 times doing this. as for the next album, i've seen hints at more seeger session stuff then maybe an e street album. i bet we'll get another solo album too at some point. can't see the Big Man touring much anymore though.
  22. i'm still confused...so the surrogate band only played in the flesh? they sound exactly like floyd. of course, waters is singing.
