  1. just picked up by your side. so far so good. the first three songs are great!
  2. jason bonham is taking some 'led zep experience' on the road. don't know much more than that. my hunch it's gonna be like zappa plays zappa with jason playing along with vids of his dad's band.
  3. i'm from ohio, so i feel a kinship to him. was never a fan, but at some point in the last few years i heard him interviewed on fresh air and was really impressed. i took another listen and realized this dude is on par with springsteen, neil young, tom petty, and to some extent, bob dylan. i recently got his self-titled album from 1998 and it is really good. words of wisdom for those of us approaching 40. i'll have to check out rough harvest. now, i wonder, is this new one recorded in that CODE technology that is supposed to be digital with an analog sound?
  4. the artwork is cool. goes with the theme of the current tour. as far as TW goes, not sure. last time i checked TW hadn't acknowledged neil writing about him. it's a great site for info, but the comments, like any blog, get out of hand. i too have gotten reactionary on the internets and have been trying to stop that over the last year. looking forward to the track list.
  5. neilyoung.org is a nice clearing house for Neil news.
  6. I saw them I 92 and it was distorted loud. On those visa aman put up it's sounds the same way. Not to mention chris's voice is just a mess. I love the cabin fever stuff. So have they toned down the live sound? Should I go see em?
  7. I liked twisted road as a title better. No big deal though. Really looking forward to this.
  8. crowebase has info on Band. as far as the shows go, i thought they were supposed to be doing these mammoth shows with 1.5 hour acoustic sets and 2 hour electric sets.
  9. i was lucky enough to see justice league in the early 00s. kind of an offshoot of jazz is dead. great drummer from a great band. RIP i guess he just played last month. it's amazing how these dudes really do play till the end.
  10. Windfall Methamphetamine Barstow Roll On No Rolling Back i like pretty much everything the guy does, but to me, those are just classic songs period. especially the top two :-)
  11. i don't know how much more don draper i can take. jon hamm is a master though. no doubt.
  12. thanks for posting all this new stuff. looking forward to this season. glad the lead actor is doing well. he's in remission from cancer, which i didn't know until recently. i hope this season is a little more realistic that the last few have been. of course it's a tv show, but last season was a bit campy. the previews look very serious which i hope is the tone. just deep and dark.
  13. http://www.glidemagazine.com/articles/56243/my-morning-jacket-recording-new-album-due-mid-2011.html working on new album. it says they've never recorded in louisville. this is puzzling, i thought that silo was in louisville that they recorded the first few albums in. anyway, here's hoping they get back some of the early magic. never heard a band go bad so quick. jim james just needs to tone down the goofiness and keep the lyrics 'cool'.
  14. lucky enough to catch that interview in the car. what a nice and cool dude. loved his talk about production. i could listen to that shit all day long. so gracious about talking about we will rock you. you could also tell terri gross was excited. who knew she was a queen fan!
  15. Tracks 2! that sounds very interesting. love darkness, so this is gonna be great. it'll be interesting to see what bruce does in the next two years as the last decade was nonstop. i'm betting a solo album or maybe another tour.
  16. since the cabin sessions i'm rediscovering the crowes. so, i to need to check out three snakes. i worked at a record store when that and by your side came out. i've always kept up with their career. who couldn't if you were paying any attention over the last 20 years. i loved rememdy and thorn, and now i'm really getting into the other stuff. it's exciting time for them. i may try to hit the shows here in atlanta in october, but it's a small venue. i'm also looking forward to what chris might do next. hopefully another solo album. from the bit i've heard, he's a competent and texture
  17. thanks, for putting yourself out there. i needed it too as i lost it after switching computers. i think it is such a great EP. i also love cars can't escape and of course, Venus stop the train. so good. i could listen more like the moon, the song, on repeat all day long. it's just the essence of the wilco yhf era in my opinion.
  18. the samples sound really good. nice and warm production and, go figure, i like the back up singers:) gonna have to pick this up soon.
  19. cool. more info on the album coming up. looking forward to that.
  20. steve slurs way more than usual and much worse on the townes album. to me, it's almost unlistenable. do like washington square and love transcendental blues.
  21. i live in atlanta, so i may check out these places. do any of the band members still live in atlanta? incidently, there is a Fellini's pizza on ponce de leon where is bunch of 'famous atlantans' worked. chris is one. as far as my morning song goes. i'm not too keen on the gospel ending. i think i liked the last album because it was sans back up singers. would much rather hear rich sing.
  22. yeah, i liked masked and anonymous. btw-thanks for the info on the movie tracks. will have to check them out. i know some are on the last bootleg series.
