  1. I think this is a very fine album and so what if it reminds of Monster or Hi Fi....two good albums in their own rights.
  2. Very much so, everyone seems to talk about HTH and TTGG but SOL is really stunning. Almost a pop album but quite dark in places and some wonderful songs. AND Karen Grotberg....what more could you ask!
  3. There ya go, a billboard in NYC no less. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smithwicks
  4. Sure, Megaupload do ya? Guinness remains very popular here as does Beamish in Cork. Heineken and Carlsberg are popular too. Budweiser draft sells very well. Bulmer's is the only one for me.
  5. Kinsale is far too hoity-toity for me! Too many yachties and bank managers hang out there.
  6. Now that is a good shout. He can beat some sounds out of that old guitar. He is a damn fine player as well.
  7. Actually, I thought Solace might have come in there after my comment to give me some shit.
  8. Richard Thompson and add 19 others to carry his guitar cases.
  9. From being five points clear we now trail and Chelsea are close behind. Big games next Sunday. Arsenal and Chelsea and Liverpool and Man U.
  10. For sure, lots of bands have been influenced by Lizzy's twin guitar attack. Listen to the guitars on the recent Hold Steady album. Gorham/Robertson influence all over it.
  11. Harp!?! You would be seriously hard pressed to find a pint of that in any pub in Ireland now. Maybe the midlands, it was popular there and maybe some Dublin bars. Jeez, that was horrible shite too ha ha!
  12. I am glad somebody enjoys that vile drink. Very small share of the market over here. Is it a big seller in Amerikay?
  13. Strange Times from the new Black Keys album f&*^ing rocks!
  14. Honestly, any album from The Jayhawks you can pick will be filled with great tunes and melodies. My own faves would be HTH, TTGG and Blue Earth. I wish the band had a message board.
  15. Oh great Zog....even put on Freebird instead!!
  16. I agree, it is a fine song and all but damn, if it hasn't been played so often that off planet species are sick of it.
  17. What do you reckon? It's loud and crunchy...me like, a lot.
  18. I have often worked on Paddy's day. Triple time and a day in lieu as well. Can't beat it.
  19. I only got into them just this past few months and have been voraciously listening to their stuff. Fantastic band and Jim Cuddy's solo is brilliant too.
  20. Great band, saw them many times and they never failed to rock the place up. Fave album possibly Black Rose...no filler on that for me.
  21. Uggh, this is gonna be a marathon and extremely difficult.
