  1. I have just finished booking flights and hotel and festival tickets for me and the wifetype for this momentous event!
  2. Keep that filthy talk for your swinger's parties please!
  3. Aren't you a media head...tastemaker amongst internet denizens? Stop falling asleep on the job!
  4. Only listen to Captain Beegheart albums issued in odd number years and played backwards.
  5. I suppose playing the larger markets where he would be quite well know is a smart move. No sense trying to make it in the heartland at 50 years old.
  6. I have no idea what the song is about but sometimes I think the following line is awesome and sometimes I think it just sounded good and he stuck it in there. Take off your Band-Aid 'cause I don't believe in touchdowns
  7. Are there any other types of Fall fan?
  8. Ah that was probably my problem. I do really like the two official albums I have and the only live show I have I got from Archive.org so it was probably a hit or miss as you say. Thanks for the tips though.
  9. I presume A-Man will tell me that there is 200 threads mentioning this but I couldn't be arsed looking for them. I was looking at mine and other's profiles here and under the user name, top left hand corner thereabouts, there is a "rating" and a number of stars underneath that ranging from 1 to 5. What is this please and who put the stars there? I know, I have very little to worry about on a Sunday morning....
  10. Garden Ruin, their previous one would be a very good starting point. This one focuses more on the work as actual songs whereas the earlier albums tended to emphasise the horn section more and have a feel as mood pieces, to me anyway. Feast Of Wire and The Black Light are also worth checking out. Also check out the In The Reins EP recorded with Sam Beam of Iron and Wine.
  11. A little Sunday morning 'Trane.
  12. I would love to get into the Dead but apart from Workingman's Dead and American Beauty and one live show, that I have, there really is just too much stuff to sift through. If you start and get a shitty album then that would kill any enthusiasm I had. Still one of the best band names ever though.
  13. Nice review there and the setlist looked pretty inclusive of older stuff and the highlights of the new album. Pity you had to miss The National. How did they come on before MM? Down to sales or how do they schedule that?
  14. Just started this, hope it's funny.
  15. Does he sell well over there? I have a hard time fathoming how acts that are patently English go over, over there..as they say. American culture has crushed the world so that's why everything you guys throw out makes it over here but I didn't think it travelled both ways. I am totally not making sense, it is a Sunday morning here and I am slightly hungover...
  16. That was probably a bit strong but he really does get my goat. And I don't even own a goat.
  17. I would be happy never to hear Chris Martin again. All his whining about hating celebrity and being married to a celeb wife....such a fucking pansy. Get over it you limp wristed English twat. Even your music is limp wristed and shite and as for the new style and wearing those stupid fucking jackets....situationist sloganeering and clothing even looked stupid on The Clash and Joe Strummer, you are not.
  18. All lists are silly but we still peruse them. It's harmless and human nature. And Louie must only be about 60 or so.
  19. I think it's bloody great. The appeal of it lies in it being kind of all over the place. All I can say is I would love to be in a position to put out something this creative when I am 50 years old. Album has me really stoked to see him next month.
  20. Congrats....I would love to be in your position but when mine gets paid off I will most likely be dead. Or in suspended animation. And still paying.
  21. Which appendage is the Dalek's erection?
