  1. It will all depend on the context. For instance, "What" will be appropriate if the clue references size ("This is the largest country formerly a republic in the Soviet Union") whereas "Where" will be appropriate for locations ("In England, a vehicle's motor is located here.")
  2. I said this back in '06 and I'm saying it again. If I get on and have a huge lead (or more likely farther in the red than the U.S. government) I'm going with the "What is Uranus, Alex." I don't care if the category is The Solar System or Those Darn Etruscans.
  3. Just read the e-mail they sent me yesterday reminding me that the test is this week. It's a good thing I didn't delete it as it was in my spam folder and I totally forgot about this. Good luck to everyone taking this over the next three days.
  4. Everyone join D-Mac in welcoming the A-hole of all A-holes back to the NHL
  5. FWIW, the b-i-l blog says that JT is still in NZ recording and is not due back in the states until tomorrow. Maybe that explains why no Wilco at the ball.
  6. The only thing I know about Great Lakes Swimmers is that they tend to get hypothermia this time of year.
  7. At the start of the 4th quarter I have a bad feeling for the Cards. Collapse of historical proportions is imminent.
  8. God I miss John L. I think the only other coach i miss more than him is Coop.
  9. If they book The Lady Gull Diva on beautiful Gull Lake, I will be there (most likely as a stowaway).
  10. Reviving this old thread for a PSA: Online test scheduled for Jan 27-29. Good luck.
  11. I can't wait until March!!! The Last Dickens will move to the top of my list of books to read. The Dante Club and The Poe Shadow are awesome and the new book looks to be just as great.
  12. Keef - because he is a hell of a guitar player, it would be real fun hanging around him, and I wouldn't be the worst singer in the room.
  13. It's not too early to start thinking about November 21 is it? Go Blue!!! Beat tOSU!!! I love odd-numbered years - ND and tOSU in A2.
  14. I just finished Ron Suskind's The Way of the World. All I can say is that Inauguration Day can't come soon enough.
  15. Steelers better win tomorrow or else there could be a major bloodbath in SD next week when the Ravens kill PRivers et al. Steelers/Ravens in Pittsburg on a cold January afternoon could be a great game.
  16. Who cares who won the Mythical National Championship. The real big news is that Beanie is going pro. That means no more long TD runs in mid-November against the Wolverines! 2009 is our year - Go Blue!!!
  17. Man, I thought I had seen UT at either the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor or Club Soda in Kalamazoo, but according to that website A-man linked, maybe not.
  18. As an alum of the University of Michigan, I am torn about who to root for in tonight's game. First, my two favorite teams are Michigan and whoever plays tOSU. Second, my best friend from law school went to UT and we both went to that Rose Bowl a couple of years ago, so that leans me towards the Horns. However, a tOSU defeat will leave the Big11 with a 1-5 bowl record with the only win coming from Iowa. Conference pride requires some support for the team down south. Hopefully no one will revoke my diploma, but Go Bucks!!! Beat Texas!!!
  19. Macca's Christmas song ("Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime") has to be on this list. Thank god the holiday season is over and I won't have to hear this turd for another 11 months. Unfortunately, then I will have to hear it endlessly for the next holiday season.
  20. A great book. I am such a fan of mobster novels and movies. Puzo's other books, like The Sicilian and The Last Don are pretty good as well. I'm re-reading this right now:
  21. Yes I do. Bad news on the vinyl front - Last night I was listening to London Calling when my turntable bit the dust.
  22. Kalamazoo!!!!!!!! See ya' @ Bell's.
  23. Chris Webber stands up for Gene Chizik
