I don't blame anyone who is either from the Bronx or has roots in the Bronx for rooting for the Yankees. They should. That is their hometown team. Italians, too - the regard in which DiMaggio is held by Italian-Americans cannot be overstated. Some of my best friends, including my mom, root for the Yankees.
