New and Improved 3-ply election thread...
explodo replied to John Smith's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
You mean the Republican dream of a balanced budget and low deficit? EDIT: Oops. Didn't see viatroy had said exactly what I thought in reaction to this high quality post from the good-natured gentleman with the Pulp Fiction avatar. So I posted pretty much the exact same thing. -
The latest Ryan Adams thread

Did the record leak yet? I've been away for a spell. -

One of the better things to appear on television in years. -
Very weird to me, too, but I guess I had move or get used to it. The first major pseudo "debate" between the two is led by a pastor and held in a mega church? The fact that they both feel compelled to actually bother showing up here is telling, to say the least.

There's nothing to give away anyway, so I'll survive.

In an odd bit of (wonderful, sweet) news, my ninety year old grandma, just yesterday, apologized to me for voting for Bush twice.

Stop disagreeing with me. I am right all the time.

Too bad I can't stand DBT. I know I'm in the minority on that, so I will say that the Hold Steady does an amazing job of picking tour partners, however that all works. Art Brut/Hold Steady was dynamite.

I doubt he truly cares either way, but yes, he has always said marriage is man and woman, but civil unions are gold.

Lame that McCain, obviously with a favorable crowd, can get away with recycling his stump speech throughout the entire hour while one of the rules, according to Warren, was that stump speech lines were off limits. And then he "wins" in the press because he was more assertive in his answers. And Obama is taking some seriously unfair heat for his quip that deciding when a "baby" first has rights is above his pay grade. The standard rebuttal to this on the right has been that, as President of US, no question is above your pay grade. Sweet Moses, how stupid is this country? The President is in

Weeeeeeeiiiiirdddd. Whoa. And why is Wilco not lined up on that Chicago date? That had better change.
-
Or a fiction novel, where this one guy gets hit by a limo and then moves in with rich and powerful people.
-
Since this is my dream tour, I think a date wherever I am would be smart.
-
Fer rill. Some week.
-
Mine is a big douchebag.

I forgot, if I go by United States release dates, my top record is:
-
That doesn't make my statement any less true, T-Bone.

"In the 21st century, nations don't invade other nations." - John McCain Nice selective memory, jackass. Or maybe he assumes that Americans could never invade. They just bring freedom wherever they go. His whole Cold War era let's kill those Commie bastards response to the conflict in Georgia has been interesting to watch. He finally has an issue he is comfortable with, war or the possibility of war, and he is suckling on that teat like a kitten. I'd imagine people 50 and above are eating it up.
-
Go to this if you can. Only two dates (so far?). Empty Bottle Chicago - Sept 13th Mercury Lounge NY - Sept 23rd I've been waiting for these dates for months and it turns out that I can't go. Lame to the maximum.

It never ceases to amaze me...

It is to the media who wouldn't have any idea about this pact having been made. -

This is true, up to a point. I think there are cases when a man and his wife would agree that they don't care what they do sexually or who they do it with (not suggesting this is the case here, but your statement isn't specifically referring to John Edwards) in which case it no longer matters (more in line with the Clintons, maybe). The last paragraph, though, is gold. Couldn't agree more. -
So you're a republican and a Cubs fan? The world's worst two evils coexisting in one being. And they said Obama was the antichrist. And good to see Zambrano choke today.

He was on Leno last night (meh) and is on Craig Ferguson tonight, I think.

A kid I knew made those and they said "Murder is Awesome!" He took the troop ones off of cars and replaced them with his version. Pretty great, if you ask me. Some might still be out and about in the great state of Iowa.
