Jeff beat up Ripple pretty bad at a solo show in the 90s. Pretty funny, but kinda harsh too, if you're a real Deadhead!
Phil did later sat in and sang ripple with jeff.
-
Well, tours over. Anyone downloading the shows? I've got a few and am probably going to get the gorge show later today, I was not expecting to hear so much good stuff. While their were plenty of train wrecks this tour was way better then the last few.
-
The video would NOT have been worth the time if the woman had "run over the guy and THEN took off forever," as you say. Because then the video would have been about domestic abuse!
Many women go back to their abusers and claim the abuser loves them.
-
Which GD songs would you guys like to hear Wilco cover? off the top of my head i'd love to hear Box Of Rain or Cumberland Blues
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd love to hear Jeff with Phil and friends.
Off the top of my head though maybe broken down palace, uncle john's band.
Jeff's voice really would suit a lot of the jerry tunes.

Remember the beam? Damn, that thing scorched me so many times. And the xylophone-type instrument...Bill on talking drum or something similar, while Mick was doing the color. So tribal. '80-'85 was my favorite period for the drums.
this is more like it.
the drums and space portions are some of my favorite parts of later shows.

man, I really miss drums, these composed jams have been cool but I enjoy old school drums.

That would have been great. I never saw a jazz show at orchestra hall. one of these days...
I worked there for a bit, I went to a few shows there two years ago. Caught Wayne Shorter with Brade Blade, John Pattuci and Danielo Perez.
-
Great interview with Branford Marsalis.
I was lucky enough to see Brandford play a set with Joshua Redmen last year at orchestra hall.
somebody is shit faced.
-
Have to admit, the set ended with a bit of a dud. But overall the set was great.
I was expecting another tune, but woman r smarter sounded alright just not a set closer.
-
I perfer Aiko. Michelle likes Women R Smarter better.
Battle of the sexes!
have ya'll herd the 4/29 version with Branford... good stuff.
ETA: Easily best first set of the webcasts.
-
Is it just me, or does anybody else have to wait a bit to figure out if it's Aiko, Aiko or Women are Smarter?
I caught it pretty quick. Love hearing them do this one.
Both are similar tunes though.

Yeah Phil. I find it hilarious when people complain about phil's voice, compare this to any of the 90's takes his vocals are so much stronger now.
-
little rough into dire wolf, there. But it's sounding good. Nice crowd sing a long there, great save.
Music sounds great.
Phil as usual is on top of his game, really sad to hear he's not doing a fall tour. Wonder how much more he'll do.
-
so do you guys think there is gonna be a lot of sit ins?
ETA: WHOA! They aren't wasting any time getting to business.
-
Have you ever saw a show at the Gorge. I have not. It looks rather awesome.
I like the shared vocals on Loose Lucy and Crazy Fingers.
Crazy Fingers sounds great, best one I've herd this tour.
I have not seen a show at the gorge but I have been a mile from the entrance and driven along the river. Its incredible. While not the Gorge, I am seeing a show at red rocks this summer.
Also is Jeff singing?

The above states that the doors open at 1:30pm and the show starts 3:30pm.
makes sense now.
-

I don't see the point of video at all and my wife is angry with me that I showed her the video. It ruined the song for her. (She may be over reacting, a bit, but to each his/her own). I agree with TheMaker.
my girlfriend said the same thing.

The point is that we beat the shit out of the ones we love best. Those violence scenes are ridiculously over the top for a reason. It isn't condoning domestic violence. It's making a point by metaphor. I thought it was great too. I'm with SirS.
Like I said before offensive, I'm with Lou on this one. Over the top or not its still a women getting battered and instead of standing up for herself she just stays with the abuser. I think your metaphor is a stretch.

Also don't miss "Grievous Angel" easily one of the best rock and roll documentaries out there.
When I was out at Joshua Tree a few years back I drove past the motel he died in.
