  1. I was born in 1980 but I identify the most with the 90's. The 90's is where/when my musical taste were shapped. The 90's is where I got into all my still current favorite bands! I must admit though I delve into the 80's oftent Bonus question...is there one year in that decade that sticks out for you??? 1994 for me...just entered high school. Fun/great albums from: Live, Weezer , REM, Phish,Beastie Boys, Soundgarden, Beck, TMBG
  2. I ordered Loveless on Vinyl from HMV in the UK which should be coming in April
  3. I sometimes get sick of my favorite songs and bands from listening too much. Try listening to a song you don't like 4 times a day then you will see what is not to like. I am like in a perpetual dentist office here and it is my idea of torture...
  4. http://www.nme.com/news/adele/62719 Adele just passed DARK SIDE OF THE MOON!!! Adele may have talent but she annoys me. I work in an office where the pump light-fm type music all day. If I hear Someone Like You or Rolling in the Deep one more time I am going to scream! I really despise the high part in Someone Like You ..she sounds like a chipmunk! Sorry for my rant. Happy Spring!
  5. I ironically was listening to this album this morning on my commute and I saw the date! I love this album!!! Happy 20th to a brilliant record!
  6. Yeah me too...Been a Blur fan since 98 and have seen Gorillaz on their last 3 tours (Fav def demon Days at the Apollo though Plastic Beach Tour was great!). He is very versitile!
  7. Peter Buck solo album??? odd http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/reverb/2012/03/former_rem_guitarist_peter_buc.php
  8. ^Bobby Wolmack released several songs with the Gorillaz in the last few years on both Plastic Beach and The Fall.. He was featured in Stylo and was on Cloud of Unknowing and my favorite Bobby in Peheonix. Yep it is a great voice!
  9. Hmm yeah MMW live is a mixed bag. When you see them they might go off on a 20 minute Jazz noodle fest but when they stick closer to the song structures it is always solid. Not too familar with Tortosie...what would be a good starting point with them?
  10. Yeah a Go-Go is great saw MMW play with Scofield and it is a nice combo! I haven't heard the N.Miss Randolph/Medeski album and will pick that up!
  11. http://www.musicdirect.com/search.aspx?searchterm=uncle%20tupelo all the albums now available to order on vinyl...
  12. I am a long time MMW fan. I have been seeing them since 1998 and a fan since 96 or so. What I appreciate about MMW just like Wilco is every album is a great pogression. MMW changes styles and are very versitile. There is very few things that MMW releases that I don't like. Their live shows are also very unpredictable which I appreciate. Each musician in MMW can hold their own on a solo or play subtile if they have too. Just wanted to see if anyone on here is a fan...if you are new to them I would recommend.. 1) Notes from the Underground-Great acoustic, jazz Standard type songs 2) Shack-man-
  13. Elliott was a huge Harrison fan..I heard his live version of I Me Mine at one of the shows I attended..it was great!
  14. Anyone else a fan of Elliott Smith? Albiet Elliott's solo career was on the short side he consistantly released some of the best singer/songwritter songs I can think of. I constantly go back and find new nuances in his songs after repeated listens. I was fortunate enough to see Elliott a few times in concert and even met him and oftent wonder where he was going next. In my mind a copy of: XO, Either/OR and Figure 8 are essential to any music fan who likes singer/songwritters... Anyone a fan or have a story to share? Here is my goofy looking picture from when I met Elliott outside of Maxw
  15. Pickle River! Whisky River's distant cousin?
