Can I go ahead and say that the Lidle story is getting TOO much coverage? It's shocking yes, and sad. But it has every single news station completely tied up.

Actually from the picture they don't look too bad. You want to be in a place where you can actually SEE the ball. In my opinion anyway.

Would you like it if Wilco released a new album
Wilcology replied to HighFives's topic in Just A Fan
I've loved every line-up this band has put together, not excluding the A.M. era line up. If they did another record it would be interesting, I for one would buy it. -
Mine too, because I don't live in Minnesota anymore. I'm only about 200 miles south of KC so when the Twins play the Royals I get to hear them on the radio.

Official: "I hate Dane Cook" thread
Wilcology replied to SlowBurn68's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
He used to be funny. His monologue last night was pretty bogus. -
I'm cheering hard for the Royals. GO TWINS!!!

That trailer does a good job. It really makes me want to see more. I can't wait for this thing.

Being There is the best record to start with. If you're into Springsteen, then you won't have any problem with the straight-forwardness of the songs on that record.

Are you coming from the surrouding area?

So, I recently got tickets to the Wilco show in Springfield, Missouri. It's gonna be great, and it's only an hour away. But what I really want to know is, what is the deal with this venue? It looks pretty cool, but it does seem slighly quirky. After all, it is owned by the Shriners, a masonic group. Have any of y'all been there? What's it like? Thanks for any and all info/comments.

I love that guitar.

I think the one loong set is pretty great. When it's really drawn out, and they're playing song after song you leave the experience and all you're able to say is "whoa..." I also like the suspense that comes with an encore. And even though you know they're coming back, you never know. Especially when you've only seen them twice like I have.

Someday Soon and it's because of one line. "Make you mine and see you swoon/Some day, some day sooon." Great great line.

Seems like it makes the left hand obsolete. In one chord songs anyway.

No, it isn't.

What's D/B?

If I'm making a lot of "noise" with my guitar in hand then I usually turn my disortion gain all the way up, add a lot of reverb, use wah, and just be really spasmodic with the way I play. I know that Jeff and Nels use a lot of effects for their guitars including multiple volume pedals which is something I really want to try.

First off, what kind of Gibson box does Jeff play? I know he has an Epiphone Sheraton with Gretsch pick ups on it (from the movie) but when he plays "Walken" he uses a different Gibson that isn't a thinline. Secondly, how do you get a more "rockin" sound out of a hollowbody without getting feedback. I play an Ibanez Artcore and love it, but the issue of higher volume and distortion at the same time poses problems. Answers and suggestions very appreciated.

Taylor Guitars any owners recommendations?
Wilcology replied to JohnW's topic in Solid State Technology
I have my Taylor Big Baby on me right now. It's awesome. -
I feel guilty because I should really be reading now, and most of the time that I'm just farting around my house.

Are the Sexus Plexus Nexus books any good? I read Tropic of Cancer and loved it. Haven't read anything of Miller's since though.

Gotta love B&N Classics...

I tried reading that once, couldn't do it. I'm reading Main Street by Sinclair Lewis right now.

I thought it was a Gibson Frontier from first sight. And about the pickups yes, but the link is on my other computer.
