2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!
Duck-Billed Catechist replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Mat Latos will be pitching for the Padres. He was arguably the 2nd-best pitcher in baseball for much of the season, but has struggled in his last few starts. I would imagine that his arm just isn't built up for a full major league season yet. -
I'm pretty sure he sold his site to Rupert Murdoch and made a bazillion dollars. Edit: Apparently he wasn't exactly the site owner, although he may have owned a stake.

I wanted to let everyone know that I've not yet gotten worked up over this. There, I said it. -

The Twins are way better than the White Sox. It's no accident that they've run away with the division. -
I hope it goes well. I'm sure it will.

Pat Listach. Didn't know he was a coach these days. Sox-Sox game is rained out. Locals, any other Earl rain-outs? I guess I care more about my fantasy baseball lineup than the potential death and destruction. -

Ozzie's idea, apparently. Man, Edwin Jackson has been great. It's too bad the White Sox gave up Dan Hudson to get him. -
Supposedly Manny isn't playing tonight. It's unclear if this is his idea or Ozzie's. Since he's DHing, he should be playing just about every day.

Chris Sale (White Sox 2010 draft pick who is already in the majors and pitching well) has similarly bad mechanics.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/early-lead/2010/08/glenn_beck_rally_albert_pujols.html Kate will never forgive them.

A lot of people said his mechanics were bad. Hopefully he'll be able to come back as well as Liriano has (although Liriano is not as nasty as he once was).

That's a nice surprise. -

Why did you think he was dead? -
Hmm.

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5442858 2bobs, do you still write for your school paper? This seems pretty sleazy to me. Has he drawn any good recruits to FIU? I doubt a good college coach in the process of building a program has any free time to spend with another job.

Apparently Cooper loves this guy. Well, whatever.
-
I'm thrilled that the Twins traded one of their best prospects for Matt freaking Capps. The Edwin Jackson trade, unfortunately, looks horrible for the White Sox unless he is flipped as part of a deal for Dunn. Unless Don Cooper works some magic, Hudson is a good bet to out-perform Jackson during this and every other year. While earning much less money. Holmberg is a decent prospect as well.
-
That Sheets deal was terrible. I believe you'll find that people stated as much on this board when it was announced. Who knows what Brad Penny asked for? Almost all players take the highest offer that they get.
-
Eh, I wouldn't give up. The Twins have Morneau out for the time being, Sox have a hard time keeping Quentin on the field, and Mauer's back could flare up at any time.

Nice song. I wish Mavis' voice was more front and center, though. -

Well, did she put them in? -
He had been pitching very well of late. The whole White Sox pitching staff has been. They've been throwing up some crazy numbers. Hopefully Dan Hudson will keep it going.
