  1. "Just shut up and listen, okay? You can make it louder by being quieter." -Jeff
  2. I'm just worried about not being close to the stage and stuff. I love to actually see Wilco play their instruments. Thinking of lining up at 11a.m.
  3. Sounding so good. Trying to mentally figure which of these songs might make into them Americanarama sets...
  4. I'm going to Nashville. Biting the bullet and going. Yep. I hope this isn't a bad decision. I just really wanna see Wilco.
  5. Do audio rips of DVDs count as albums? That used to be a thing...
  6. A bit fantastic, you mean?
  7. I snagged a copy of the Old 97's/Waylon Jennings double 7" and it is pretty great. The local store only got 2 in so, I hope the other went to a good home and not ebay. Also got the Pornography 7" (that Ryan Adams side project) pretty fun punk stuff. Hoping the local store can snag one of those Elliott Smith 7" from their distributor for me. I'd love to have that, but didn't see it Saturday morning. Would have also loved to get that Big Star, but the local store only had 1 and I couldn't find it. Enjoyed going out for RSD- did not enjoy being stepped on by eager people trying to push i
  8. Just saw a tweet from Wilco. Password for ALL pre-sales tomorrow is "tenacious"
  9. you're right! i was thinking of Chastain Park (though, I must say it is well named Chastain is my Maiden name). Gah, that show, while awesome, left a lot to be desired of the crowd. Saw an interview recently where John said it was the wettest show Wilco's ever played. I'd have to agree.
  10. The amphitheater in ATL is crummy. The sound is terrible. The set up is terrible. Unequivocally the worst place to see a show in that town. I have a friend who is a professional photographer and he refuses to shoot there it's so bad.
  11. What? Wow. I guess when you're a music legend you really do get to make the rules!
  12. I'm skipping this one. I'd rather give Wilco my money when it's a 2 hour show and I won't have to fight with MMJ fans or Dylan fans for a spot on the rail if it's GA. It's too much $ for us at this point anyhow... and the venues aren't the best. The Nashville date is slightly more appealing because there it's a big open field, but ATL is horrible... absolutely awful. So I'll wait for the fall or winter with high hopes of a return to the ryman.
  13. I must say I am pretty proud of the Braves right about now.
  14. I'd have to say Jason Garner for the Old 97's, because he's one dude and he takes care of the entire band AND when he's not teching for them he play drums for polyphonic spree.
  15. Also, the comment section after the slide show or whatever is hilarious.
  16. For a second I thought this might be the title of the new record, and I though, "that's a bit grandiose!"
  17. I thought the last couple of times I've seen them were good, though I never got to see the original line up, so I have nothing to compare it to. I thought the music sounded good so I kept seeing them. The tickets have never been too expensive, so it's been fun seeing them several times, and I plan to again in June. The record has a real classic country feel to it. Think country music in the 50's and 60's. As far as the Jay vs. Jeff thing I've never thought of them as competitors for the same audience or fans or even with each other. 2 different bands that happened to spring out of one aw
  18. HOLY COW! That's insane and awesome. That's enough to buy a nice used car. Damn!
  19. I hope this goes to somebody awesome. I am too poor to even bid.
  20. I am really enjoying the new record. Nice that they're going a more classic country route. Though I miss the guitar rock that was on "Okemah..." just a little bit.
  21. "Shake It Off"? Really? They played it a lot in the past...
  22. I saw the Old 97's about a week and a half ago in Atlanta. it was rad. Just got tickets to see the Flaming Lips in Chattanooga on my birthday. I am so excited about that too. It's a tiny-ish place (1,800 capacity) and it's in between dates for them with the Black Keys in ATL and Nashville, so it will be nice to see a full set instead of an opener slot. Gonna grab tickets to see Son Volt here in Chatt in June soon too. Excited to see them again!
  23. Holy shit. I am going for it. OMG. I am sitting here with my mouth ajar. Wonder how fast it will be bid up into the thousands of dollars range?
