  1. If they play "Standing O" I will jump up and down on the bed. *crossed fingers*
  2. I noticed that back in May. Maybe that's the reason for all the hats?
  3. I would recommend any of his symphonies, specifically #8 (mostly known as the "unfinished symphony") and pretty much any of his art songs. Those are what I am more familiar with.
  4. I'm on Chapter 2, and I love it so far. At the time when I knew Nat (I think I was 15 or 16) I knew nothing about classical music, and reading this makes me wish I could chat with her about Schubert. I grew to love him through studying him in college choir. I've recommended it to all my choir buddies to read.
  5. Anyone read graphic novels? Seeing the new Spiderman film last weekend reawakened my need to read comic books, but I want something a bit longer, so graphic novels seem like a good idea. Any suggestions?
  6. I still have mine at my parents house. It's a goddess or St. of strength, but I can't remember the specific name anymore...here is a picture of it perched on a piece of art made by my sister...
  7. I laughed at Jeff walking around at the beginning. I've had dreams exactly like this... where I'm the bald guy... except not bald\
  8. Just got this on vinyl today and it sounds awesome. Really interesting braille type insert too.
  9. Can not wait to read this!! Seriously, this thread has made my day.
  10. So far, judging by the Wilco Retweets, I do not stand a chance. Thanks though.
  11. I am really digging this record. My husband doesn't care for it, so it doesn't get a lot of spins in the car, but I blast it at home doing dishes and stuff.
  12. Put my submission up today. Oh lord. If I won that guitar... I would probably faint then play til my fingers bled for the 1st time since i was 16. Fingers crossed the Wilco camp likes it. http://twitter.com/Sarah0504/status/222155736627687425/photo/1/large
  13. this gave me the biggest laugh. i love rhett so much. also the first time i met jeff i said "hey jeff" and he said "you're SarahC!" it was sweet.
  14. Wow. That's actually not too bad. I'll probably pass on it too, though.
  15. i bet that will cost a nice bit of money.
  16. Just looked at it. Nice to see some familiar faces in some of the crowd shots, too!
  17. Maybe he rose from the ashes? Eh? Eh? This is a neat thread. Always cool to read other people's theories about songs.
  18. Why shouldn't it be looked at as a good thing? Wilco made money... Some folks who may not ordinarily be exposed to Wilco will be... It's still a great song. The ad can't change that. I don't get the sour reception by some folks. It's no different than somebody releasing a really bad cover. Plus, in 2 months it will be totally forgotten about.
  19. Wow, the week I decide to get an iPad, Wilco release an iPad book. nice.
  20. Another itty bitty bump for a nice record. Hope some of y'all pick it up today.
  21. No south east dates at all. The closest I guess would be OH.
  22. Rhett Miller is streaming his new record today until 9PM. It comes out in stores on Tuesday. This is his 1st release on his own label, Maximum Sunshine, so I am trying to help get the word out about it. Listen if you are so inclined. I know the 97's have a few fans on here. I think it's pretty solid. I am sort of pissed that Rachel Yamagata sings on my favorite song on it, because I don't particularly care for her style. Other than that minor let down it's an excellent, twang-infused record. I am proud of and for him. The duet with Ms. Cash is lovely. There are a couple tracks that are defi
  23. Wow! That is awesome. I don't watch TV enough to see commercials. Thanks for sharing. wonder if any of my family have seen it yet? They've always got a TV on.
