Problem Signing In (just last 2 days)
SarahC replied to roadhse ma's topic in Speakers Speaking In Code
Thanks Diane for passing the message along, and thank you Donna for fixing me up! xoxox to you both -
It takes a while, but it is worth it in the end, I thought. A lot of people thing DFW is exceedingly wordy, but a good ramble does a lot. I recommend it to everyone when they ask "What should I read?" I even bought a Kindle version of that book for my iPhone... just incase I ever need something to read. I can always go back to that one. It's in my top 10 books ever written.

that looks interesting. I love reading about cults and weird religions like that.

Thanks guys, seriously, every moment singing with him I was so happy. it was amazing to be able to make music with somebody I look up to as a musician, and generally as a nice human being. I am going to really cherish that moment forever. Only thing slightly better was Jeff handing me a diet coke and asking me what I thought of my 1st Wilco show. I do feel lucky to call Rhett a friend, though. Anyhow, thanks.

Fantastic! I saw him 3 times in 3 days, and it was excellent. He puts on a great show. Is his backing band The Serial Ladykillers gonna be with him? They're awesome.

I can't wait for the new Rhett Miller record that comes out next week. Heard about half the record live a few weeks ago, and it was really good. Strong songwriting for sure.

This is a good cover. Gah, the photos of Jeff and Jay a la tribute style made me laugh though. Very man-crush like. Cool though, and if I was a guy I'd have a man crush on Jeff Tweedy.

Yeah, I am in TN. Weird story: years ago before I was on VC I was apart of an alt-country forum called Alt-Country Tabs. One of the guys on that forum was from CA and really big into the Mother Hips, and Tim Bluhm's solo record, and he sent me a bunch of stuff. They have some really good tunes. I think the guy used to post here, maybe still does. I can't think of him name though.

Thanks y'all. It was a very cool moment. Especially to share a mic with Rhett all Beatles style. It was really cool to see Rhett so many times in a row too. I went to 3 out of 4 shows he did in the southeast last week. Culminating in Knoxville. My little sister got to come to that one, and Rhett told her I nailed it in Nashville. Very fun, and something I will never forget.

I've seen Rhett there lots with the 97s. Unfortunately that night was a bit slow. Jack White was in town, and I think that had everything to do with it. The 2nd half of the show, Rhett took exclusively requests from the crowd, and somebody yelled out "Fireflies". Rhett started the song then stopped at the 3rd line and looked at me, and said "Sarah, you want to sing this with me?" I said, yep, and went on stage. It was amazing! My friend got some video, and I'll post a link. http://youtu.be/b9goKy4ReCI

This week I "went on tour" with Rhett Miller. He did a little jaunt through the southeast, and played some very interesting and intimate places. Monday was Eddies Attic in Decatur GA right outside of Atlanta. It was a sell out show, and the room was rowdy but respectful. Tuesday was Nashville at Mercy Lounge. I've seen Rhett there l

Finally I am able to log on and do a bit of a show review! First, my husband and I had an awesome time. We got to be right on the front row. The set list was extraordinary, and it was amazing to see the band work up close. Early in the day we got to chat with Jeff and told him about our wedding and he asked if we had any "honeymoon requests" we asked for Magaz Gah. SOrry y'all i am posting from my phone. Anyway, we asked for Magazine Called Sunset. I was so glad they played it. The whole show was just fantastic.

What a dick, wow. What year was this... 80-something, obviously? at that synth in the background -
Also, something I don't get... why does everyone assume "religious" people can't be liberal/will not back the president. I am a Christian, but I keep church and politics separate. The way this country is run should not be dependent upon its leader's religious affiliations. That leader should do what is best for this country, not what's best for the preachers of doctrine, and vice versa. Doctrine should not be intertwined with politics. That being said, I voted for Obama in 08 and plan to vote for him this time.

I wish there was an applause emoticon for this.

I must admit, whether that is factual or not, it made me laugh. -
I am in between books at the moment. School fried my brain, so I've been playing more video games lately just to veg for a few days. However, my husband is reading the Harry Potter series for the FIRST TIME EVER. it's fun rediscovering it through his reactions to it.

Found out today that I have lost my grant for school. I have been working on an undergraduate degree since 2006, and have changed my major a total of 4 times. As a result, I have too many credits to qualify for any more aid. Basically, I shot myself in the foot with the school's own gun. I couldn't complete the requirements in any of the majors I tried to be in (i.e.: couldn't make it through their standardized testing, final recitals, etc.). I went from English > Music Education > Education > Communications > English: Writing This past semester I finally switched back to En
