  1. I'm having a hard time getting into it. Listened to it several times, but not in heavy rotation. Probably gonna start cranking it up in the car over the next 2 weeks. Seeing them live April 6 here in Chattanooga. Looking forward to it. They're my sister's favorite band at the moment, so our mom bought us tickets for the gig for Christmas.
  2. I was in my Spanish class when I read about his death, and I thought it was a joke at first. It was a Monday or a Tuesday (can't remember now) but what I do remember is the Sunday before I had listened to "XO" and wondered what was going on with Elliott, if he was gonna put out more records. Then hearing he had died I was so freaked out. One of the 1st musicians I truly loved as a kid that passed. (Besides George Harrison). At the time "XO" was the only record of his I had. Bought it based on the recommendation of a French pen pal I had at the time. That Christmas I got every single recor
  3. Blue Eyed Soul absolutely! Magazine Called Sunset Hell Is Chrome Wishful Thinking (though I finally got to hear that full band style in 2010!) Dreamer In My Dreams
  4. I say go for it. I've seen Son Volt 4 or 5 times now, and each time it was worth the money. The 1st time I saw them on the Okemah tour was the best though. They were loud and rocking out the whole time, or at least as rocking as one can be staring at their shoes. Absolutely worth the door charge though. I wish they'd come back to Chattanooga.

    Wilco Fiction

I don't know I guess I just like the idea of letter grades. I want to know that I've done a good job instead of it being one way or the other. Satisfactory doesn't have as good a ring to it as A+ does. So far in my story, there's a couple fighting. Dude gets a black eye from girl because she throws a shoe at him expecting him to duck, but he doesn't. I don't really know where to go from there. I know they need to fight, and eventually it resolves in them somewhat making up, but I don't know where they're going, or why they're there together fighting in the 1st place.

    Wilco Fiction

a long time ago, TweedyzGirl and myself used to write Wilco stories. A long, long, long time ago.
  8. Only Sons are sort of a local alt.country group out of Nashville. They're really good. Rhett Miller is the singer from Old 97's. Equally good, and an amazing person to boot. I've seen him with/without Old 97's at least 20 times.
  9. I've got: Only Sons on Feb 29th at Honest Pint Of Montreal on April 6 at Track 29 Wilco on May 11 at Sloss Furnace in B-ham also probably a couple Rhett Miller dates when he plays in support of his new record that comes out at the end of May this summer.

    Wilco Fiction

my teacher doesn't give us actual grades. it's a pass fail kinda thing, which sucks.
  11. the one and only time I've been to Chicago my dad and I were looking for the hotel, and randomly turned the corner on this one street and found ourselves across from the Marina Towers. I sort of flipped out, took a picture, and we moved on.

    Wilco Fiction

I remember St. G. I miss her. Her stories were great. I'm considering, "ALTWYS" first and foremost. Also considering "Everlasting Everything" and "Bull Black Nova" (but from the perspective of the car, or the person who was presumably killed)... not sure. Sort of worked out a little outline last night for the "ALTWYS" story. I wrote my non-fiction piece about meeting Jeff for the 1st time, and besides a couple people in the class claiming I was full of shit, it got a nice reception, so I decided to run with the Wilco theme.
  13. has anyone here ever wrote fiction inspired by Wilco? I'm considering taking a Wilco song, or at least the basic skeleton of one, and constructing a piece of fiction around it. You know, maybe use the theme of a song as a general guideline... Might have interesting results. What do ya'll think.
  14. I read about freezes like that in the pinned post at the top of this board. That's really a bummer. I would be upset if I were in your shoes too. Sorry about that, but I am sure the show will be awesome from where you and your family will be sitting! Hope it's an awesome time for your daughter!
  15. I got 2 for Birmingham!!!! Damn straight I am gonna be in line early early that morning.
  16. Wishing, hoping, praying for good pre-sale vibes! So hard. It would be perfect honeymoon (part 2)
  17. Like I said earlier. I will get there at 5am. No joke. Already talked to Matt about going up there the day before... (or I guess technically it'd be going down...)
  18. well, dang! at least you've got a neat after show pass...
  19. Oh the other day "You and I" came on NPR when my dad and I were driving. I flipped out extensively. Dad rolled his eyes. A lot like this:
  20. YES! I am going. Deal sealed. It's a week after my 25th birthday, and it would be the 1st show my husband and I will get to see together (we'll be hitched by then). So excited. Already thinking good pre-sale vibes. I will get in line at 5AM to be front row...
  21. does anyone know anything about Sloss Furnace? I am thinking about trying in the pre-sale tomorrow. If it is GA that will seal the deal for me.
  22. I did a search and didn't see this previously posted, so I thought I would share. It's a really awesome interview Jeff did with public TV in Austin.
